Carbine Studios has updated the official WildStar site with great news for fans. The post reveals that the live stream events will continue, that the final two classes will be revealed and, most importantly, that the beta will kick off in "winter" where "tons of people" will be invited in.
Classes have changed, evolved, and progressed since we first revealed them, so before we get to the new classes we thought it'd be great to reintroduce the old ones in an informative way, and showcase each of the unique mechanics, strategies, and designs of WildStar's classes. Each reveal (or re-reveal) will be accompanied by new webpages, developer interviews, and livestreams to answer any questions you have about that class.
Read it all on the WildStar site.

I saw this post exactly as it came out. I have to say I'm even more hyped right now. All classes were changed by a big margin, in a positive way, the new classes will be out. More streaming, more zones etc.
Can't wait for this game to come out.
I'm one of those people who applied for beta back in February 2012 and still haven't got invited, but I've saved my original confirmation email saying I applied!
But finally I've decided to "apply again" and it seems you apply for beta through an NC soft account now. Which I think is probably why a bunch of us who were the "first" ones to apply haven't gotten in yet. I doubt they kept the old beta apps when moving to the NC soft system.
So just a suggestion... probably a good idea to apply again.
Same.
My apply beta is in 2011. Lol
here is my breakdown of the class reveal
you are a rogue type you get daggers
you are a warrior type you get a 2h sword
you are a caster type you get a wand
you are a ranger type you get a bow
seriously the generic TERA type weapon gear needs to be changed, its stupid that my class I chose is locked to 1 type of weapon for life
Smile
What happens when you log off your characters????.....

Dark Age of Camelot
The last two classes probably will be an Engineer (Tank/DPS) and Medic (DPS/Healer) so it will complete the classes addon so you will have 3 Tank Classes, 3 Healing Classes and combined 6 DPS classes. Sounds like a plan.
As for the people that complain about themepark bla bla's ... remember Wildstar is created by former Blizzard employees which worked on the original Vanilla, so who loved Vanilla, will probably love Wildstar.
Frankly, I am too tired defending the game, but to be honest, the publicity it's had so far is almost close to 0.
Engineer I would agree with but a medic I wouldn't. They should have 2 techy centric (engineer and gunslinger), 2 martial (stalker and warrior), and 2 magic/psionic (esper and the final class). That is if they don't add a 4th tree/spec/whatever for settlers as building is a major element (supposively, I've seen promises like this before that final product was not even close to what devs promised) which in that case perhaps the last two will have settlement dedicated trees.
The publicity is plenty, in fact I would say it is one of the more publicized games in development as the videos are numerous. They just did a different delivery by focusing on videos which most if not all of the companies did not do. The reason why it is low keyed as many are tired of WoW clones and were put off by the art style of the game. The majority want something new and refreshing which is questionable about WS. It might have some new mechanics added but by far it really is a rehash of the age old formula that every MMO that has tried to copy from WoW has ended in failure.
Ryan from Goblinworks has data showing of themepark MMOs that illustrates a pattern of every single themepark MMO post WoW, that is massive initial peak then plummets... in every themepark MMO (course who knows if this is a bit blemished). Doubtful that WS will be any different. Not to mention EQN took almost all the hype with their big unveiling.
I was excited for this game until they've announced a push-back for spring 2014. If it released in 2013., I would play it. 2014 is a whole different ballgame, with new consoles, sandbox games, Star Citizen etc.
IMHO, Carbine had a window of opportunity and they've missed it.

It will be interesting to see for sure. 2013 really had a huge dead spot that they could have ultra-capitalized on, but now they will be doing lots of competition with ESO and so many others. GL!
Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.
your locked to your weapon in this game cause........... GUESS WHAT! YOU GET TO WEAR ANY ARMOR YOU WANT!!! So there for you will people will eyeball your weapon/skills to see what class you is
Solo play is for off-line players.
ANYONE can "out themepark" Blizzard's WoW right now, and it's Blizzard's own doing. My opinion of course... as I just got done playing a month and with the destruction of the gameworld caused by the advancing storyline (the expansion I missed over the years like Cata), and with their big changes to quests and leveling it feels more like a cheap browser game now than a themepark.
Now I admit I usually prefer a more sandboxy MMO, but I do on occasion find themeapark MMOs to be enjoyable. I played WoW now to get used to the cartoon graphics for the soon release of Wildstar and other MMOs with a similar style. I was NOT impressed with how much Blizzard has literally nuked their own MMO and how they have dumbed it down so much. I now have a much better understanding of why some Players complain here about how Blizzard has changed WoW. I did try out WoW a couple of times with a free trial years ago, and WoW is much changed from what what WoW used to be. Many quests gone, areas of the map Players now just stop once in and move on with out almost any time spent there. I wasn't happy enough with WoW back then to subscribe, and I am even more not interested in subbing now.
But my science experiment was successful.... I proved to myself that if I tried hard enough I could forget how stupid the cartoon graphics style looks to me, and even though Blizzard has ruined much from what I remember WoW was before, I did find a few places ingame where it was fun to play and I forgot about the graphics for a while. So... Mission Accomplished.
I have researched what WoW was in vanilla enough for me to want to try out vanilla WoW... but that is impossibility. Next best option.... play a MMO designed by some of the same Devs that made vanilla WoW.
I missed the biggest Train to ever visit this station, and I ain't about to miss the WildStar train... as long as they don't nuke it themselves before it even gets released. I won't pre-order any MMO products anymore, but I am looking forward to WildStar.
