Noob question about two-weapons fighting for a warrior

I just started today my first character on WoW. He's a warrior and I was wondering if I could wish to train him(maybe later in the game) to fight with two weapons at once.

Its just that, in every game with swords I always loved fighting with 2 swords for maximum damage! And style! I just hope its possible in this game too. image  If not, I'll continue slashing monsters with my 2 handed sword.

Thanks in advance for your knowledge, less noob players.image

Yes it is possible, and it's DECENT for aggro control. Not for PVP though.

Thank you for the quick answer, but I was wondering further... Can I actually equip like(for example) 2 longswords? Or is more like "one medium and one small weapon"(i.e: one longsword and a dagger) style in this game?

They are in game; it'll specify on a one handed weapon if it is simply 1-handed (either hand) or a main handed weapon. You can see which type it is when you examine it, like this:

Sword of Serenity either hand, or

    Dazzling Longsword

... main hand only. Just a couple of examples, but the same attributes are found commonly with green items as well; one other thing to pay attention to with blue or purple items is the Unique attribute, which will mean you can only wield one of that particular named weapon at a time.

A fury-spec warrior with dual weapons can do some serious damage and makes a good tank, if your healer is up to it. I'd highly recommend Fury as your spec if you want to be a great dual wielder, but it's not a necessity.

You will tank better with a sword and shield, and some groups will demand that you use that combination, so be sure to carry it for a backup. You CAN tank just fine without a shield; I run 4-man with some friends and our main tank rarely uses his shield, but it does take a bit more work as the healer and can be a little harder. If you like alts, try a healer long enough to get a good feel for when it's important to switch off when you're playing your warrior.

2-handers are better for PvP, but you can certainly do fine with whatever you prefer. Carry different weapon types with you as much as you can, and learn to switch off based on the situation.
