I shit you not this is under DNL aka SOG+pre-order funds "Patch notes" (http://www.darkandlight.net/patcher/SOG/know_bugs.htm):
Quests:
some quest steps may have troubles.
Skills / Spell:
some missing or wrong FX NPC movements:
NPC movements are not optimized yet (transitions are not smooth)
Graphics:
Rivers generation : you can see through the borders
Map zoom / unzoom can crash when paths are activated
Level of details of some objects need more adjustments
Misc problems:
NPC and Pets don't collide with objects
Teleportation to coordinates (0,0) may occur if you mount on a vehicule
Catapults only available for Game Masters at the moment
Camera vibrations when you are passenger on a fast pet (dragon / drake / griffon)
FX not available when a fortress is attacked and destroyed
Mana Towers have no collision system
There you have it, SOG *IS* DNL, yes, "The largest morpg you have ever seen" but i have also seen THREE 100% free morpgs that beat this in graphic/lag/support/community by far.
There is no more graphics, models, skins, effects, this is it.. This is what you are due to recieve in April..
FIVE YEARS INTO DEVELOPMENT! Come on..... INSANE memory leaks, client crashing from grahic errors.
Exacly what are DNL beta players doing, playing 1/10 of the newbie island with level 1-4 available?
If you pre-ordered this game and if you seriusly think it will be released in April, 2006 you are delusional to the point where you ignore your own judgement and trick yourself to believe it in pure desperation.

Forget the graphics - they are "ok",
what people are distressed about is the bugs, incomplete code, and crashes.

From his in-game description it is obvious he hasn't played at all so he is either a disgruntled non-account holder or a fanboi that can't play due to errors or a low-end computer, or he's a competitor of NP3.
Regardless, how many more threads need to be made about the quality of the game or the professionalism of the developers or the state of the server?

No one is disputing that his game is bad, incomplete, or will not be ready in April. But mindlessly posting "This Game is Bad!" in thread after thread is getting tired.

I've never claimed not to be a fanboi. Then again I don't use the term as an insult. I like this game, and want to see it improve. My constructive posts are in destructing the non-constructive ones. Refer to your last two in case you can't remeber how bad I owned you in them.

Usually seeing things like this would set off some sort of red light about how a community is feeling about the said product. Seeing these things over and over tells you what? If i was on the outside looking in id be just a tad bit alarmed. These types of posts are not limited to just these forums here at MMORPG.COM, but many sites and gaming circles. People are very disappointed with DnL. Just look at the hype on it now on this site. One or two people changing thier hype didnt drop it from highest hyped game to what ever it is now (below the chart). That goes without saying as to how fast it fell. Thing fell from first faster then the exodus from SWG by the fans. ( Yea that fast.)

I agree. The problem is the fanboys cannot make an informative or constructive post so they eitehr personally attack anyone that said anything negative about their game or they tell people they have no right to post their opinon unless its postive.
This is not the official forum where the mods delete negative posts about the game. Please don't tell other people what to do. We have raving fanboys posting all over this forum how great SoG is with no supporting information except they want it to be good so it has to be so.
SoG is not great, its not good , its not poor its probably the worst MMORPG ever released. I have beta tested 3 of the most unstable games ever AO, Shadowbane and Horizons. They all had serious problems but nothing even close as bad as SoG. But forget the stabilty problems. Lets say the Devs magically work out the stabilty problems and could devote their time to making content. There is no content in the game. There is a world and a flight simulator. Absolutely nothing else. The combat and the UI need to be totally thrown out. This entire game needs to be built and what is done needs to rebuilt. I have never seen a game in any stage, aplha or beta lacking so much.
Now the devs have said they will totally redo the combat system in a month or so. Does anyone believe them. They will be lucky to have this game semi stable in 6-12 months. They have done nothing in 5 years and what they have done is not good. What would make anyone think this dev team can build an entire game in any short period of time. They can't even keep their website running smoothly. If you fired the devs and brought in an experienced dev team they might have this game release ready with limited content in 1-2 years. With this dev team that probably means a minimum of 4 years. This game will never release. It's dead. Enjoy SoG for what it is. No one will ever see DnL.
Edit: I just saw the fanboys post physically threatning the above poster for having the nerve to disagree with his views. That is the single most pathetic and offensive post I have ever seen on these boards. I understand he must be frustrated that SoG/DnL has failed and that he may take this failure personally but it does not excuse this type of action. I think that poster needs to seriously take some time to cool down and reflect on how mentally and physically unhealthy these type of actions are to himself.
C'mon, 'I' know, 'You' know, 'We'all' know that the people that made Dark and light are just covering up there steps, This game has fallen through its own belives, How could you ever attempt to create a 'Revolutionary' game that is meant to hold 19,000 people on one server with such a small and, unprofessional team.
Im sorry to say but this game is nothing to be proud of.

My critisism resulted in just that with this kind of desperation in the form of the well known "HEY YOU ARE NEGATIVE BECAUSE YOU CANT PLAY! GIVE THE DEVELOPERS A BREAK! ITS BETA/SOG!":
Not that it matters but so far i played a caster-wizard, hunter-ranger and 3 fighter-archers.
I run the game in 1440x900 on all low, sound disabled in .ini file which is read-only otherwise it crashes with around 10 fps on a 3.2 HT ghz cpu, ATI x600 256 mb card and 512 ram (which handles HL2, Farcry with details on VERY HIGH).

Competitor of NP3? Dude, its taken them 5 years to get a half-assed game going with a bought engine on a large map. Get a 3D engine, grab a C++ book in a store and congrats, you are bigger competion to NP3 becase you are TWICE as competent with developing. Since you obviusly post here and discuss the game, congrats, now you are TWICE as competent dealing with a community!
Like i said, DNL IS a very large map but Knight Online, KAL and the third listed here on morg.com beats it graphic, animation, model, lag, stability wise...
Right now the game is VERY stabile however when i get in, there is about 1/10 as many logged in so i am guessing there is a limit around 3000 or 4000 users with 18881 total out here.
In the end though, this IS a new "Mourning" fiasco. A few months from now this community despise the information/support from the developers, the hardcore people will start to get their shit togheter and stop fool themselfs, NP3 most likely throw out a flawed DNL in april in pure desperation to keep alive, many sign up but move on within months since like i said, SOG = DNL = alpha software.

ahah no this is THE one and only DnL fiasco.. What the DnL crew pulled a little while ago taking 8k orders at $60 and refusing to give refunds after you log in for what is essentially a terrain engine and hang gliding sim makes the mourning guys look like Saints.

I agree with you though, Mourning people are saints compared to the "SOG" scam to survive the latest push/delay..
Mourning got A LOT of slack and shit for rude out of touch support/atitude towards the community but in the end, atleas they HAD communication with the community!
