This game needs a lot of progress.....

After stop playin when the disasterpatch 1.19 came, i resigned two weeks ago. Abd it became a even bigger disipoinment then i suspected. Man this game lags major now!!!!!

To aim with any armor is like playin the lottery, even if one ajust sensetivity.

There most be at least  60-70 towns along the frontline and the fights are consentrated to 1 or 2 towns whitch result in lack of any fun stuff.......always! Now if you like playin infantry this is a pretty good game still if it wasn't for the lag.

Besides the paratroops this game was the most rewarding at version 1.15, but after that it seems like the rats actually makes their best to destroy all the fun in chasing the realityaspect.

One might think that work would begin in givin the HC a education in how a ww2 officer acted instead of givin power to zitted 13 year olds in Dublin that has no foundation what so ever.

I am still very critical about where this once so great game is heading.........

I think its fairly clear where this game is heading.

Today's news: Toto, Hatch, Lindir and possibly one other Rat have been fired a week before christmas. This news comes on top of Mo's unexpected departure from CRS two weeks ago.

So they fire the infantry guy, the aircraft-modeller guy, the game producer and a couple of others.

Hello fanbois.... come in fanbois..... where are you NOW?

  • SparreSparre Member Posts: 257

Well, I don't think Lindir ever was a producer. Lindir was, or still is, in charge of PR in Europe as far as I understand (at this moment have I not seen any comments on that Lindir has been laid off). I don't know if that was the reason, but I think we can all agree on that the release in Europe hasn't been handled in the best manner by GMX.

First it was said that GMX was in charge of the whole European release. Then in late November was it said that GMX only released the game in UK, and other publishers later would release it in other countries, like Kemedia in the Scandinavian. It is obvious that GMX couldn't handle a release for whole Europe and to choose GMX was a bad choice, but at the same time do we not know the reasons for why CRS signed this deal with GMX from the beginning. Maybe that was their only reasonable option at that time.

But with that said, I don't think these lay-offs is anything else then a speed bump in the road. The staff in Texas is still a strong group of developers and coders. But I understand that since you have such strong feeling against a computer game Kadesh must this create a strong sentiment of joy for you. I don't know why you feel that way, but it is kind of pathetic if you ask me.

Toto and Hatch were let go, Mo the producer wife was offered a better job in Denver, so he left voluntarily.

The European release of BE was delayed and the North American release was postponed till after Christmas. Publishers decision and this effected anticipated cash flow. They posted that purchasing of CD Key codes is higher than ever and those people may be hired after the NA release. Everyone who has an existing account will get 3 freebie key codes when they register thier new BE. I will give mine away on this forum.

The game runs fine on my computer. I had barely any lag except for when I load into the first time.

"A strong sentiment of joy"??? Are you on crack?

I've played this game since WELL before June 6 2001 and it brings me no damn joy at all to see what's happening at CRS.

If anything, it brings a strong sentiment of disgust. These guys had a game that had the potential to be HUGE ..... and (purely in my opinion) they threw it all away with this insane desire to make the HC's the sole repository of power in the game. THAT decision led to the fiasco over AO's, which has subsequently seen player numbers plummet like a stone.

LOTS of players told CRS they were making a huge friggin mistake, but the Rat Godz of CRS sure knew better.

"How do you create a marginally successful niche game?" "Take a hugely successful game and give it to CRS to run."

As for this being 'a speed bump' - try telling that to all the guys who were hoping for (actually relying upon) a flight model audit early in the New Year.

You do remember Hatch saying he wanted to cut free some time early in '06 to fix the instability problems in the 109s, 110s, Bell etc?

    Who's gonna do that now?

I like AOs. It was boring as hell to run around a large city while 1 guy moled for hours.

From what I can tell there seems to be quite a number of players compared to say 6 months ago.

The game doesnt need, "ALLOT OF PROGRESS."

The game needs, "THE RIGHT PROGRESS."

CRS has proven time and time again that bells and whistles dont make a good game.  That was like 2 years ago, I dont know what monkey-asses are running the company now.

Yeah, that's maby a more correct line.

And yes on the other thing as well: Half year ago it was catastrofical, but  that doesn't make it sufficient now. The "let go thing" is pure of economical reasons due to the playerescape from the game.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for a awakening that gives a progress in the right dir...

Agreed. However, I am still happy with the game, I have been playing since it's horrible release 4+ years ago.

As for lag, I have no lag in the game, in fact out of every MMOG I have ever played this game is by far the least laggy. I'm guessing it's a problem with your PC and not the game.

And on the subject of controls; are you useing a joystick to control vechs or mouse/keyboard? Personally I feel as tho the game is no fun unless you have a joystick. With my joystick I have zero problems making percise shots.

The community is BY FAR the most mature and friendly/helpful of any MMOG out there. I recently deicided to pick up WOW because my gf wouldn't stop buging me to get it for us. All the pre-teens and immaturity on that game makes me cry, same can be said about SWG which I played for ages. I think the fact WW2O is more of a simulation/steeper learning curve it scares/keeps those types of people away (for the most part), I for one would love a larger community but not at the exspense of those types of players.

I had more posts locked and deleted on the WoW forums than I ever had on the WW2OL forums and I had a lot more posts on the WW2OL forums.

I never once recieved any help for any problem I had with WoW. I was always told by RAM must be faulty and should get it replaced. Time and again I told them my RAM had been tested and was fine. Eventually I told them that I run WW2OL fine and so the problem must be with WoW. Thread locked rofl.

Every time I have had a problem big enough in WW2OL to ask for help I have recieved it and quickly.

Well, rats have promized to fix the problem due to complaints about low framerate/lag. So even if you don't experience lag it's a problem well known and recognised by CRS rats....

I get between 20 and 100FPS and normally only experience lag when first entering a battle. Sometimes while flying but not as much as I did over a year ago.

THe casualty count is low, so, just for Hobbit and the other fanboys who ruined the game, and are now sending it into thr abyss, The list of rats getting their heads cut off (courtesy Snail):

    Mo
    Lindir
    Hatch
    Toto
    Squirm
    Animal
    Codec

That's seven more down folks. Looks like BE Europe has been a total failure, so bas that not only were new rats not hired, but seven axed. Thanks Hobbit! Buy yourself a gold sub now.

Hahahahahaha I'm so glad I have ultimate power to ruin the game, rarrr fear me! For I am almighty!

    OK, they weren't fired.

They were 'unvoluntarily left devoid of employment'. Does that sound more euphemistic to you?

Geez.. wasn't aware that all 7 were going. Codec had only been at CRS for a few months. I recall the Rats welcoming him, as he had previous experience in modelling infantry combat for the US Army.

How the heck does Doc manage to hold onto a job? Is he secretly giving BJs to Rafter under the desk? Imagine firing Toto and retaining Doc?????????

This does NOT look good :(

Despite requiring a grain of thought, I was referring only to Toto. The reason for unemployment probably varies between the people.

Mo left two weeks ago since he wanted to continue to live with his wife who got a new job in another state (Colorado I think it was).
