WoW updates

WoW is going with the questing idea, having "!" over NPC's with available quests, "?" over NPCs with unfinished quests, and silver "!" over NPC's with a quest you can do with higher level. Having played UO and DAoC this is a major convenience. I hear the idea has already been used in a previous MMORPG, but I mean, new games are suppose to be about improvement. The main reason I posted here though is because the screenshots are just rad. *Homer Simpson drool*

I too agree that World of Warcraft is more of a gamer friendly game.  The Quest pictures look insanely good.  The Idea of choosing what type of 'payment' you want from questing is also a great idea.  So far this game sounds extremely user friendly.  Let us hope we see things of equal greatness in the months to come image

    I myself don't like this .

Quest are coming too easy nowadays and thus you don't enjoy the challenge.

In SWG the exact thing exists where an npc has an "i" on top of his name for quest and when you get the quest you get a waypoint and basically are told everything you need to do.

In EQ(if  you don't use spoilers) you have to find the npcs ,figure out what you need to say to them, solve riddles which tell you vaguely where to go.This is using the grey matter and at the same time doing what a game should do challenge you.

Whats the challenge if you can just run around town looking who has an "i" to their name then activate a waypoint and be off to finish the quest.

I think EQ way is best but a touch of DAoC journal to remind you about unfinished quests.

Having said that i think WoW might be the most promising game out there i the make.

Horizons i still have hope for but the poor feedback is very disturbing to hear.

EQ2 - made by SoE who have brought down the glorious work verrant did with EQ and made SWG a sham.

UO X - same problem with EQ lost all the creative minds and are making a new mmorpg 2 years too late.

WoW seems to be the best bet out there don't let us done blizzard!

It would seem that they haven't done any thing wrong, so far.

I agree Hercules, quests shouldn't be made so easy that a 3rd grader can figure it out. Though unrealistic (if a fantasy world were to ever be real hehe) the indicators on the NPC, I believe, will be more user friendly than spoiling. I would much rather know who to get a quest from than clicking on every NPC in every town. However, hopefully Blizzard will keep in mind that telling us where to get our quests doesn't mean we also need a walkthrough for every one. Sure we need to know what to do and where to go, but some level of problem solving definately should be involved. Another thing I think would help is giving a level/difficulty rating on each quest, so we don'tdo a level 5 quest with a level 30 character or what have you.
