Our new fast-action combat control scheme inadvertently presented a hardship for some without the use of both hands; for this reason we are introducing mouse-only play which allows all movements and abilities to be controlled through the mouse exclusively. This is live in the game right now and can be accessed through the options menu.
How to enable Mouse-Only Play:
1. Open your Options menu (press "O").
2. Click the button that says, "Keymap".
3. On the bottom half of the Keymap window, you will see a list of options.
4. Check the boxes that say:
"Middle mouse drives movement" and
"Scroll through default actions with mouse."
5. Click the button that says, "Apply" and then "Ok".
Now your mouse-only play feature will be enabled!
Here's how it works:
1. Left click is still used to fire your weapon.
2. Right click is still used to trigger your specials.
3. The middle mouse wheel will scroll through the abilities on your toolbar.
4. Holding down the middle mouse button will move you in the direction that you are facing.
5. You can use the "+" and "-" keys on your keyboard to control your camera zoom.

Before we all go getting carried away in a seasonal rush of bonhomee and goodwil to all devs...
lemme just point you at a comment by one John Smedley in part 2 of his gamespot interview...
"We put it out in Korea and it didn't do very well. Why? Because it wasn't a Korean game. And we didn't make any effort whatsoever, beyond basic translation, to make it adaptable to that market.
Take something simple: for example, mouse control. When you're playing in a PC Bang, there are people that want to play with one hand--holding a cigarette in one hand and controlling the mouse in the other. They want to play the entire game that way; touching the keyboard rarely.
But we didn't consider that. We learned that that's important after the fact".

I was going to quote the same interview as Ranger.
Thats real nice and all that handicappers can play the game again (if they want to), and thats some nifty PR for SOE at a time when they can realy use it....but they dont give a damn about whether a disabled person can play or not. Theyre sending the game overseas - thats why they put the effort into this.
Kind of hilarious that those goofballs actualy think that EQ failed in asia because people couldnt smoke with one hand and play with the other. If its a good game people will play, with or without a smoke. Out-of-touch SOE at its finest.
I'd REALLY like to hear from a disabled person after trying this out.....is it as good as before? or is it more like an afterthought?
It's a good thing they finally did this....they were looking pretty rude from my view (They still are in my opinion, but at least they can now accommodate the disabled SWG ppl)

Oh my God! They fixed something they ruined with the NGE! If they did this about 300 times, we might break even in a couple years, right before they publish NGE2.
Honestly, how many handicapped people will come back after being dicked by SOE?

With as much time as I put into the game before it was destroyed, I'm allowed to whine.
BTW, when you wake up and realize that your still in SOE's web of deceit Wepps, there will be no need to tell me I was right.

I was very excited about this news thinking that it would really improve my ability to play for longer sessions like before, i want to point out a few things.
I still have graphic glitches that did not improve, i cannot deal with zippity do dah critters with fast movement, and seem to have to limit my hunting to grals, pickets the bigger game
My frame rates still drop considerably when hit with over spawn situations, so in some things it did help, it did not address at all other issues. Being albe to move well if the game glitches on u bah
anyway, i didn't totally hate nge , still play from time to time. but my sessions are short now
there are some things i am still enjoying in the game
but i have to admit that i am playing else where and without the issues nge managed to bring on us
i have limited movements no fast reaction time
You're starting to scare me wepps.
I mean its ok to like the game but jeez..
