Somebody tell me about Silkroad.

Ok, here's the deal.

Just downloaded Silkroad online, and this isa probably the 3rd korean MMO i'm trying, so I have nothing against them, but I do have one concern. Since its free, am I going to be bombarded by immature players who can't keep their ADD to themselves? And also, I've heard off problems with stability. Can Anyone who plays this game give me a little summary on what they think of the game?

Thanks.

Silkroad online is a really cool game. Orinental in nature, some of the text is kinda hard to read as it was oringally Korean I think. If I understand it all correctly it is a free beta version on the game and I admit I have not gona very far in the leveling but its pretty easy to learn how the game works. Its point and click to move around for the most part but you get used to it. I have heard that higher level is mostly PvP but I am not yet high level.

I've been playing for about a month. I'll give you a full review from what I've seen so far.

    • Graphics - 8/10: Absolutely astonishing for a free MMORPG. Probably the best graphics you will currently find in any free MMORPGs.
    • Sound - 6/10: Not bad. Sounds do get kinda repetetive but it's not too bothersome. The background sounds are obnoxious though because it's always the same sounds (birds chirping). The music is cool at first but it gets old after a while, and from what I've noticed there's only 2 songs: one for cities, and one for hunting grounds. I just mute background sounds and music and it's fine.
    • Role Playing - 3/10: Not really much there. You do quests for your first 40 levels, but it's mostly "go from point A to point B to deliver X item and return to point A" or "kill X number of monsters and/or collect X number of items." Eh. It helps you level at least, especially for your first 15 levels.
    • Value - 7/10: This is without a doubt the best free MMORPG I have ever played in terms of value. The game is simple to play yet incredibly complex; you choose between 3 types of armors, 5 weapons, and 4 magic skills, and later on you choose between 3 jobs. This doesn't sound like much but it's surprisingly varied in things you can do with your character. Your character is a lot more custom than most other free MMORPGs anyway.
    • Fun - 5/10: Don't get my wrong, this game is a blast after you hit level 20 and choose a profession (it was for me anyhow). However, those first 20 levels will take you about 4 days of nonstop leveling, and that gets really old really fast. You also have to deal with KSers and looters the whole way through, which kills the game for me. Also, when you try to level up, you will find that the servers are so crowded that there's virtually no hunting grounds not taken, so you pretty much have to deal with those KSers and looters the whole way through. Eh.
    • Community - 0/10: I have not met one slightly kind person in my entire time playing. Everybody has been the same immature, loud-mouthed, obnoxious jerk with a maturity level of a 10-year-old. Want an example? Visit Silkroad's forums and read maybe 5 posts. Nothing but flame, flame, flame, insult, insult, spam, spam. And it's like that in game as well. Plain and simple: people in Silkroad are rude and the community flat-out sucks.
    • Performance/Lag - 4/10: I personally have not experienced too many problems here, but about 80% of the people who play this game seem to have a lot of lag. There will most likely be times when your character freezes in the middle of a fight and it gets you killed. Or perhaps it won't let you move to pick up an item after a monster drops an item. Or you can't move items in your bag. Things like this do get pretty annoying and happen to everybody, some worse than others. The game also gets choppy if you set the graphics above medium (unless you have a good computer).
    • Customer Service - 0/10: From what I have seen, they simply do not care. In fact, just recently the server I play on (Xian) had some sort of crash and everything was reset to a week earlier. To compensate for people's lost items, money, levels, characters, etc, all they did was give 200% exp and 200% money drops for 2 weeks. This sounds nice, but believe me, it's not enough to even come close to compensating for this mistake. They also seem to blow people off if they come to them with suggestions, comments, or problems. GMs are never online that I know of, and for the most part the people that run this game almost seem nonexsistant. That's not exactly the kind of thing that I would want in a game.

Overall Rating - 4/10: This game has a lot of potential, but quite frankly the crappy community and the lack of customer service ruins it all.
