City of Titans, the self-described spiritual successor to City of Heroes, reached its Kickstarter goals and then some. With a goal of $320,000 set, the team at Missing Worlds Media closed their Kickstarter campaign out roughly $360,000 over their goal for a total of $678,189.

City of Titans is set to launch on PC and Mac platforms, with a standalone character creator slated to appear on both iOS and Android.

Actually, they hit their funding goal within 7 days. By the end of the period, they had more than doubled it.

all this time and they have very little to show for their work.

    in calmest breeze,
    in tornadoes blast,
no evil shall escape my gas
let those who are an evil fink
fear the wind of Fartman's stink.

wow, very nice... Hopefully they continue pressing on and maybe if they are lucky... it may become at least a bit better then Champions Online and become a challenger towards DC Universe.

This is great news! looking forward to its eventual release, I loved CoH and CoV and was extremley perplexed when they closed the servers. @Fartman: its better they take their time to release a great game than rush one out that isn't as good as it should be!

Hype > Content. It's the new MMO business model. Thank Mark Jacobs for starting that trend.

I still like Heroes and Villains more for its no-nonsense "we're developing this, giving you regular progress reports and not asking for money" attitude, and trust it more to deliver a game I like thanks to trying to stick better to the CoH formula.

That said, it sounds like Missing Worlds Media at least has plans, and these plans sound pretty interesting. I hope they manage to make a good game out of them using this money.

LOL, that game is a joke. Anything done by Golden Girl is never going to work! ;)

MWM have done more in the same amount of time and has clearly got the backing of the fans out there. :)

We'll have to wait and see. The proof of the pudding is in the eating.

So far my impression is based on what I've read on the sites of both projects and the City of Titans Kickstarter project, and my impression was the opposite, that Heroes and Villains already has some stuff implemented, while City of Titans is more in the design and testing stage.
