ROFL, when I came on board to play SWG the game was like 8.0 or 8.1 only half a year ago.
Let's see if it plummets to the depths of Sims Online in the basement of 4.3 rated.
I'd laugh my ass off if it actually fell BELOW Sims Online. And well deserved too. Great job SOE 
You get the award for the sharpest drop off a cliff of any MMO in existence. (At least I haven't heard of any sharper... maybe "Mourning", LOL).
P.S. So, how's that marketing drive going on the SWG kit? I've never seen an infomercial for a computer game before, complete with the bad anouncer voice emphatically stating "...for only 19.95!" I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw it.

Actually that 7.3 rating is artificially high for three reasons.
1. It includes all the Pre-CU reviews. It used to get good ratings because it [b]used[/] to be a good game, it is no longer the same game that was reviewed back then so, in the interest of presenting an honest review of the current game, reviews from before the NGE hit TC should be removed from the score.
2. The total score weights the superficial positives of the game that SOE didn't mess with as high as the very substantial negatives. The graphics are still good (not to be confused with the animations and icons). The music is great too. Those are the 2 highest scores. Third highest score is the community SOE has been working so hard to drive away and replace with kids that can't pays subscription fees. 4th highest is role-playing that SOE is also trying to prevent with the 9 restricted professions replacing the 34 dynamic ones. Customer service, fun and value no longer exist in SWG. Some want to give credit to SOE for the recent drop in lag. Then again that recent drop is relative to a recent huge spike and there should have been a huge drop anyway just as an effect of the majority of players leaving.
3. Where a game really fails in a category, you can't rate it as 0, lowest possible score is 1. SOEs customer service for example.
I think that if they recalculated the score using only reviews of the current game and only gave weight to the deciding factors in whether people play a game or not and that are controlled by the game company (Performance/Lag, Customer Service, Fun and Value) it would be a very different score indeed. Lower than Sims Online to be sure, especially if you could give 0s where they're deserved. Heck, I'd rather play Pong than the NGE.

I gave an honest review of the game's features recently (post NGE) and the score only came up to 3.6 including high marks for graphics and sound which I think I rated at 8 for both.
3.6 falls short of even Sims Online. All we need to do is get everyone who rated the game pre-NGE to re-rate the game appropriately for the new "features". I think SOE would cry...

The bottom line is this - Star Wars Galaxies is Lucas Arts and SOE's game. They can do what ever they want with it. If you don't like the direction of it, tough sh*t.

Dunno where you come from Malakai, but around these parts we have a neat little concept we like to call freedom of speach... even allows up to the freedom to rally and dare I go so far as to the freedom to organize a protest.
Bah, I really don't care where you're from. Here's the part that amuses me... you cry about people complaining about SWG and that we should either move on or risk a sad and pathetic life. Yet here you are, complaining about people complaining. No one forced you to read this post, nor to contribute to it, so in the context of your own outline "it's this simple":
1) If you don't like the complaining posts... don't read them.
2) If you already stopped reading them, stop crying about them and move on. Instead of trolling the forums reading posts that you hate, go post more positive forums lauding how wonderful SOE/LA are and what a wonderful job they're doing. I do not have a problem with freedom of speech. I never had any problems with people vocalizing their concerns. Its just when you see the same type of post over and over again, it gets a little old. Especially one like this post.
Ok Star Wars Galaxies used to be 8.0 and is now 7.3. Just to let you know WE CAN ALL READ THE RATINGS OURSELF. I don't need you to point it out for me. Your post serves no useful purpose. Now if we can all read MMORPG's game ratings section, what was the point of your post?
If I came across as sounding a little harsh, I just want to say that I am sorry to any who might have been offended. But I am just a little tired of reading posts like this one.

Though aggressive, Malakai does have a point. What is the point in anyone coming here to rant about SOE or it's game? You're just adding fire to your own hatred by reminding yourself of why you hate it each time you make a new post. Anger begets nothing but anger. Why don't you just go enjoy your game and we'll enjoy ours?
You don't have to feel obligated to call us noobs because we enjoy a game you don't, or spread your negativity all over the place.

If enough people show their displeasure at the changes made to the game they once enjoyed by unsubscribing and being vocal about WHY they unsubbed, perhaps changes will be brought about to correct the bad decisions made.
A few people actually like the changes... most don't. VERY simple solution for SOE, split up the servers into pre-NGE and post-NGE much like DAoC did when so many people hated the Trials of Atlantis supplement changes to the game.
SOE admitted they are capable of doing this, but chose not to. It appears they still need some convincing...

Actually it did serve a purpose and it was helped along by SonOfaGhost very valid point and after reading it I went and rated the game as it is now and it got a whoping 2.0 from me, pre-CU I'm sure if I rated it then it would have been 7+ and possibly a 10 since the game was awsome at launch even with the bugs it had back then.

My bad about coming off a bit angry malakai. Last night wasnt the best of nights.
Anywho, the point that everyone who supports the NGE is trying to make is that they like the changes, and they don't think the affect it has had against others should be constantly discussed.
Those who do not support the NGE make the point that the changes have destroyed the game, and it should be trumpeted constantly so that people know what they are getting into.
The fact of the matter is, both these points are ideas shared by those who have played or still do play this game. Therefore, I do not see the vailidity of people trying to tell those who hate the NGE to stop talking about it. Likewise, those who do enjoy SWG in its current state should be able to explain to others some of the good points of the NGE (which I have yet to find, but I'm trying to be kinda unbiased, even though I hate the thing to death).

Along the same lines as n2k3156 elaborated on above, when someone like Skylighter9 (don't mean to single you out, it's just that the quote comes from your post) says something like "why don't you just go enjoy your game and we'll enjoy ours?" they are forgetting that "OUR GAME" doesn't exist anymore. It was replaced with "YOUR GAME" so to speak.
I don't begrudge the people who actually enjoy the NGE their fun, but the way this was handled by SOE/LA was completely wrong. The NGE is a completely different game and as such should have been separated from the existing game... either by separate servers on the existing cluster or market it as a completely different game.
I could site several articles online from various companies and press groups who, whether they like or dislike the NGE "improvements", have all agreed so far that the method used to bring the change about is unprecedented and WRONG!
The player community is finally fed up with constant beta testing and being taken advantage of. I think this is not only a lesson for SOE, but for all game publishers out there, in what NOT to do.
Drive the point home.
I agree with you 100% on the solution Reno. I have thought the same thing for a while. It would only make the game experience better because Star Wars Galaxies would offer two completely different experiences. And of course then both crowds would be happy

There is no reason why SOE could not do this. If Mythic can offer an old("classic") and new server type so can SOE. Hopefully SOE will put out pre NGE servers and allow a one time free character transfer for all characters to what ever server they want.

At seventeen, I dont consider you that young, as a matter of fact you should be old enough to know what my post in conjunction with the post I quoted were referring to.
Also whether or not someone understands a particular parody will have to do with not so much per say how old the person is but the time in which he has lived.
If a person born in 1900 lived to be 40 years old, he would have never heard any to the 1940s expressions, terms, or such; but a 15 year old born in 1935 should have knowledge of them.
Again I am sorry my post was not worded in a clear, proper, and politically correct manor; I was just using the short version, rather than an essay.

"Rated 7.3 and Falling" is a clear indicator that the thread theme is going to be less than flattering to your broken mmofps. As Jodokai once told another whining nge supporter "it's not rocket science".

Actually it did serve a purpose. It reminded me to update my game list rating of SWG. I used to have it at 8.3. Now it's 2.4.
And, as someone else said, if you don't like reading negative posts about SWG then... don't read them.
