And there we go again. Tough luck WildStar. Players are just going to rush through you until WoW exp hits, then its SWTOR for you.

Tough luck ESO. People will leave after main storyline to experience the old new old new stuff in WoW.

And especially tough luck FFXIV. No matter the content patches, you ll be done for come WoW.

If author thinks this expansion what fans want and dream about - he clearly has no clue what they really want. People seeking for fresh ideas, new direction, not coming back to same old Outland, fighting same old orcs and ogres, watching same old visuals and playing same old classes. Only one new feature (Garrison) is laughable, especially now, when WoW rapidly loosing subs and position, and the only way to return vets - bring on innovations.

Meet Warlords of Draenor, the least appealing and the most disappointing expansion in WoW history.

I have to agree with the majority here and say I am not excited about this either.  They really killed the game for me when they took away character customization.  Prior to BC I ran a melee hunter, not the most effective but I held my own and did well in raids and dungeons.  I always considered character customization (build, not looks) as an important aspect of any mmo and WoW just fails in this category.  I see no point in leveling if my character's path is already pre-determined for me.

Their claim that people on ran certain builds is fine, but their (lack) programming/balancing lead people to do that.  If they took the time to balance that various skills and former talents then we could see viable builds like the dual wielding mace stun rogue, melee hunter, tanking shaman, etc... For a game that is/was so successful with such massive revenue streams it boggles me how little they seem to reinvest in their game aside from keeping the farms running.

I am curious, is the call support still a 1+ hour wait, because over the 3+ years I played I have yet to ever get a person on the phone either before falling asleep.  I just hope they take a page from Runescape and see that a classic server can be successful.

As always, just my opinion (for what that is worth).

    Cheers!

I like the fact player get to experience these event but changing them ? Unless player loose the fight I dont get why this interesting . I mean this is such a big event that I bet even bolvar can't prevent the lich king he imprison from preventing hellscream from changing the past . let's say much king take over bolvar and go prevent hellscream ? This plot is so full of hole that can't be plugged and fixed I don't get whose bright idea this was. And let's say much king doesn't intervene , he wouldn't go away , he had another form prior that was way worst . men I m glad I didn't go further then cataclysm . since activision sent a rep in there blizzard been going down the drain .Activision should recall him and let blizzard handle awesome content . Activision rep is in the way . please Activision rep get out of the way , blizzard got work to do .

You got it abit wrong. We are not chaning anything.

Garrosh goes back in time to his homeworld dreanor in an alternate reality and changes the flow of time there. Our current timeline is unchanged nothing happends to it. exept that at some point garrosh links dreanor to our azeroth and want to invade us. So it has an affect on our future.

Blizzard wants us to experience the old world of draenor and its heroes/foes.

So in order to do that they wrote this exteremely bad story wich has really nothing to do with azeroth. They are seriously grasping at straws to put out any type of content wich issnt tied to the burning legion. cause once we go there thats the end of WoW the most baddass of baddasses.

i just dont get it. we have alot of not told story on azeroth itself stuff wich can be finished or further developed. but instead they made up some complete bullshit.

i like how the new models look. and i will buy the game i mean. i have every expanion CE, so il just buy this one to complete the set. Playing however.. ugh..

Meet Warlords of Draenor, the least appealing and the most disappointing expansion in WoW history.

You are the one with no clue.

WoW is a 9 year old game.  there is absolutely nothing that can be done to fully revitalize it.  And the more you try to reach the players that arent playing it, the greater risk you run of alienating the ones that are playing it.  Just ask LucasArts and SoE.

What this expansion has done is addressed 2 of the top player desires: new character models and housing.  The reason for no new race is because of the ridiculous amount of time the new character models take.  We are getting 10 redone races, and they have done a fantastic job with them.  And housing they are approaching in a different way, be interesting to see how it pans out.

They also adding what they refer to as a 'sandbox pvp zone'.  Obviously sandbox here has to be taken with a huge grain of salt, but it looks to be a bigger, better, persistent Alterac Valley with a lot more to do.

The last quarter report showed only a 1% drop in subs, in a quarter where a major title came out.  they arent losing position.  They are top dog and will be top dog for years to come.

As for the further dumbing the game down I see people talking about, nothing announced in the expansion hints towards that.  Some people may equate the instant level 90 with dumbing the game down but those people are just clueless as to the rationale behind it.  Its not remotely dumbing the game down.  I do hope they add some harder group content in this expansion.  They mentioned that they expect people to have to pre gear for heroics a little with normal dungeons and scenarios, so hopefully that means heroics will be at least up to what they were at the start of Cataclysm.  they are making the top tier of raiding harder too, but top tier raiding is one area of WoW thats always been challenging.

I was really hoping they would announce a better talent system or perhaps an AA system, and i wish they would have explicitly stated they intended to make harder group content.  But the new models look fantastic, garrisons could be huge if they get the same attention pet battles got, and I, as well as most people, love the setting.  Its not a dream expansion but it will do just fine.

The people thinking WoW needs to reinvent the wheel are silly.  WoW needs to keep being WoW and they will keep having millions of subs.  Yeah, they may still lose a few million along the way but when it levels off (and it will, just look at EQ1's stability) they will still be top dog in the west.

I'm underwhelmed by it. I watched and just thought.. meh, was expecting more.

This just seems like an excuse to reuse older assets. They needed an expansion that tugged at the darkest corners of the world and an iconic villain.

Underwhelmed, just more orcs waving hatchets around and moaning about how bad their life is.

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
  • mysticalunamysticaluna Member UncommonPosts: 265

They should have greatly in-depth customization of talent point trees similar to Everquest 1 AA's with no cap limit (which, is where EQ2 lost players - you cap out and are done).

True MMOs should not be "beaten" and "min/maxed" out.

I agree that leveling and trivilization of old raid content has to end, but now its to late for that boat, as the equipment is so overpowered and makes you like a God in lower expansion tier content.

Now, they feel they have to statistically keep going vertical on this treadmill, because people seem obsessed with stats. I prefer the cosmetic fluff and the actual lore storylines!

Why'd they have to go outdate everything with Timeless Isle and keep going vertical on gear? Somehow, we have got to fix this op stat obsession issue...

Every game tries to release with low stats knowing that in a few years their stats will be out of balance and insanely op. Players walking around with over 1 million hp really? Now, that's tanks but soon to be all the healers and dps as well.

Ha! No dumbing down this expansion? Really? This expansion allows players to obtain gear when they aren't even playing. Garrisons allow players to hire followers. The owner of the garrison can then send his followers out to do raids and dungeons for him/her, log out, log back in and get dingeon and raid gear. When Cata introduced LFR I knew it was over, but now this? Players didn't have to do jack in LFR to get gear, but now they don't even have to go to the freakin raid to get the gear. Even if you don't believe it, there is more dumbing down coming in this expansion.

Because you have seen this in action so you know it works like you say it does?

Sounds to me like your followers go on raids for their gear, not yours.

And even if it was for your gear, to get to that point will likely take a considerable amount of time and effort so its not like you are getting free gear.

I don't think followers are going to come back with raid level gear, if they do its going to a tiny % chance (which is fair enough as they wont be around to do other stuff), plus reading up in this your follower will need a week to return from a raid, theres also the problem that if you do send a follower on a raid or dungeon mission they can get captured and you have to run that raid or dungeon to rescue them... that's kinda neat.

The open world PvP is only one zone.

Sounded to me like a persistent Alterac Valley on steroids.

Really not that much different in theory to what games like DAoC and GW2 do, but i think Blizzard wants a more dynamic aspect to it.

If done well it could be huge for the game, but PvPers can be a difficult group to please.

Who capture follower ? Open world raid pvper ? Haha ! Imagine it being forced to go grab back your follower . I wonder why I would bother to the trouble of going to an open world PvP raid zone to get back a follower ? Probably a requirement to reach end game raid ?

    When is this lunched?
  • SkaldirSkaldir Member UncommonPosts: 48

Real PvP'ers have long left battlegrounds or open world PvP, most only do arenas as that's where the rewards are at. The Timeless Isle was an attempt by Blizzard to get open world PvP back but that wasn't the case at all.

Rated battlegrounds for example in Europe are a joke, full of wintrading Russians, a quick glance at the leaderbord shows characters in the lowest gear imagineable, already for a couple of seasons. Blizzard doesn't care about PvP anymore.

You followers level up and i would assume with level comes great responsibility as well as able to craft better items, go and find better material and run higher level dungeons and raids, so if you level 40 follower who you have spend months working on gets captured while on a dungeon run I'd assume you'd want him back.

I doubt players could capture your followers though that would be kinds neat.

Then why do they continuously spend so much time balancing for it and making new content for it?
