Well the storyline might be interesting enough. Didn't even play MoP, depending on if I get a free trial with MoP free along with it, might give the game a brief return. Storyline wise though, if the Ironhorde is blunted in Dreanor, doesn't that mean the Stormwind and Alturac are never destroyed.....like did they figure, woops killed too many characters but through the power of TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIME travel they're back. Like....they change could mean that Arthas, Sylvannas, Lother, Uther, etc never died/became zombies?
It could make it interesting, it could just be a mess. Guess it's just a matter of wait and see.

Garrosh is the only one doing the timetravel.
He with the help of a corupt bronze drake. time travel back in time to draenor (currently outland) before evrything went to hell.
Their changes do not affect our timeline. Everything will stay as it is. So he is in a diffrent dimension of our world. There he influences the Horde to not do certain stuff and he wants revenge on us.
afaik after being there for 2 years pulling strings His alternate demension is linked to our dark portal. So when we go to draenor we technicly do not travel trough time. But we are visiting a diffrent dimension of our world in the past.
alterac and stormwind where still destroyed evrything wich happend has happend nothing changes for our azeroth.
The azeroth in the dimension garrosh went to however has changed
sick and tired tis panda shit. how tis new expasion feels savage and orginal humans vs orc if there is panda players around?!
get rid pandas and i may come back.
I agree with you that a different race to pandas would have been better. However, it's generally a mistake to remove content from a game.
The most obvious example is Star Wars Galaxies.
An example relevant to WoW would be the stripping out of the 61 talent points - a lot of people, including myself, left WoW for this very reason. (An uncustomisable fire mage is a rubbish fire mage, and a uncustomisable frost mage is an exceptionally boring one!)
I'm ridiculously excited for this expansion. Warcraft will always have a spot on my hard drive lol. I love the IP, the races, the classes, the story. I have started playing again so I can have a while to level up some characters, I'm a casual player so it still takes me months to get a guy to 60 lol.
For all those complaining and taking about how much they hate WoW now.. Fine. We get it. Move on and don't play it. I can't tell you happy it makes me that most of 300 negative regular posters on this site hate WoW. Means I dont have to see you in game. Yay!!!
As for the folks who want to give this a whirl, see you in game lol

Well technically if Garrosh going to Draenor A spawns a Draenor B timeline, logically him coming back would spawn an Azeroth B timeline as well, so now we basically all exist on Azeroth A and Azeroth B timelines, we just don't know what happens in Azeroth A anymore. Really it's all a bit silly.
Overall I'm disappointed. Garrisons seem like half assed housing with no ability to truly customize build or freely place objects. I mean choosing furniture and placing objects is housing 101. I like the return to the old feel, but the story seems contrived and after two Horde focused expacks I don't think we needed an expack to teach us more about the history of the Horde, while Alliance leaders remain underdeveloped and 2 dimensional. No new content types, and max level character progression remain solely raiding. *Yawn*

Dumbing down to me is that fact that I can level blindfolded and with a character who is naked wielding a white weapon and slay groups of mobs with little effort. Dumbing down to me is raid mechanics that do not punish you for poor play and lack of said specialty classes in group, it is all about the damage meters because we all know CC is non existent in PvE content in WoW. And dumbing down to me catering to the majority making content in the game so easy a cave man can do it. I guess we can just agree to disagree on this expansion OP because it didn't even register a spark of interest for someone who is looking for a MMO to play since I haven't been actve in one for almost a year now and would love to scratch that itch.
sad, thats the only word i can find to describe this expansion, this is from a vanilla player that just became casual on MOP, anyway i wont buy and wont play this expansion

Stand up to what? I still play WoW now and I prefer the current look of the game over many other games. WoW has it's own art style and will never be what some people want it to be. I currently play with everything on ultra and I find it to be damn pretty. Makes me happy anyway. I think the new models look outstanding and will only enhance a look I already like.

Well yes uhm by going to Draenor B you also have azeroth B (we will not be visiting azeroth B tho)
WE stay in Azeroth A the unchanged azeroth and it has a direct link to Draenor B so we can go between those 2 dimensions. Our past is unchanged our future however is threatened by the Iron horde From Draenor B.

I can see your point on this topic, although I disagree to an extent. My post wasn't in any way a pro time sink post. It was illustrating that his idea of dumbing down is different than mine. As far as time sinks being always bad, it really depends on your point of view. If it is ONLY dailies then yes it sucks but if there are none you get games that are way to fast to reach cap and grind. I am also an older gamer and I just don't see time sinks as the enemy. I see time sinks for the sake of poor design as a problem though. On the other hand you have instant gratification crowds being catered to and that opens a whole other can or worms and in my experiences, I'll take time sinks over instant gratification.

Pandas are the Jar Jar Binks of the WoW world.
The gold standard of the fantasy genre isn't WoW's lore - it's books by JRR Tolkien. If something seems out of place in JRR Tolkien's Middle Earth, it probably shouldn't be included in WoW either - except maybe WoW's humor.
Garrosh does in fact travel trough time. That action brings forth the expansion. So in my opinion this is a time travel expansion.
We ourselves are not traveling in time we are traveling to another dimension wich happends to be in another time.
So altho we technicly do not travel in time. we are going to a place in the past. So this might not be Time travel but we are in fact traveling to another time
I played wow from the beginning. What I liked about it was you could play any class and group with any group of classes and still be able to beat the dungeon. A group of all roues or all paladins was a great thing to do back then. You could stat your guy your way regardless of how "the experts" read fanboys felt you should stat them. There was no right way to do it. That was what made it similar to the best online D&D game i could play. The graphics were great, the storyline was good and PVP you could take or leave (i dont like it much myself but the battlegrounds could be fun once in awhile).
All the bullying, the farming, the ignorant being kicked from groups, the ninja stealing your loot and the stinginess of giving out loot to a casual player by the game rules (1 purple drop per group fighting a boss? really you couldnt just give each player a purple drop even if it didnt match his class?) these are the things that drove me away.
The concept that i didnt "EARN" something always shocked me as well. Excuse me mr and mrs no it all but i paid the same 15 dollars a month fee you did to PLAY a game not work a job. I shouldnt have to EARN anything. If the group does well and we beat the monster I should GET the same thing as you not have to compete with you for it.
Also time management for adults is atrocious. Hey we have lives. Wives, girlfriends, husbands boyfriends, jobs, children. Cant spend our life on the game. Oh and the zombifying of the computers and preventing you from logging off that smacks of big brother stopping you from leaving the computer when you want to do so. So yeah there are ALOT of bad decision calls in WoW that drove me away. Biggest one but by far not the only one, was the stock market i mean auction house. What a rip off farmers gouging you for money and the game NPCs not giving you what an item was worth.
Oh yeah and before I forget how about the useless senseless reputation gifts. You want to give me something for all my grinding how about the ability to recruit NPC (game controlled) characters to aid me in dungeon crawling or raiding so I TOO can enjoy the end game stuff. After all I am paying the same amount as the other people. Should I be forced to kiss the ass of people that degrade and berate me for nbot doing what they say i should and get booted out of a guild cause i wont spec the way they like. OR who about breaking your neck building a guild and helping people level only to have them abandon you and leave once they reach the level they want? So having NPCs to let you quest and see 1/3 of the game would be ideal. The idea to own a part of the game world sounds good in that you can build your own fortress. Great accept its too late, too little. If the mechanics returned to the way they used to be back in what they call vanilla, burning crusade and lich king then sure i would come back and TRY it BUT i dont want to mindlessly grind for levels again. quest chains that level you and teach you the game, story and let you raid regardless of your party size would be the only way i would do it.
So you fix those issues and maybe i will give you more money. but seems to me blizzard you got about 5 years ($900) of money out of me along with money for 3 expansions ($240) putting my total for 1 game at over 1k and what do i have to show for it? Frustration. So last month i deleted all my characters (several level 80+, a few level 70+ and at least 1 of each class) Delete became a favorite button. So thanks for the memories and great ideas for my table top games but unless you seriously rehash what you destroyed i dont think its gonna happen.
OH AN FREE TO PLAY PERIOD! put all those toys that do nothing up for sale. you know dumb mounts and stupid pokemonsters.
Settlements look like instanced housing, which I can understand why they would do this with how many players can be on one server. Which also means the only way to show off your settlements is by inviting players to it which is boring and makes me love how Ultima Online did their housing where you were forced to see people's housing designs as you explored.
Though it's something interesting otherwise and would like to know more about what all this new thing involves. Like will there be invasions you have to set your town up to protect against, or what are all the benefits for this new feature. I mean they talk of offline, will i be able to get a message saying town under attack and use my phone to control some turrets or send guards to defend a point, while my heroes were off clearing a dungeon.

You can only do so much with a graphics engine. Clearly the WOW engine was meant to be able to run on low end machines.
Now that it looks slightly better then the old Pong and ppl scream for GW2-like graphics, Blizzard can't do that without rewriting the entire engine. The engine is running at 99% of it's capability already. That extra 1% will not bring revolutionary graphics.
And yes, when I saw the long awaited character graphics update I was also looking like: "W T F is this it? they didn't change a thing!"
The only thing they can do regarding upgrading graphics is like adding a few extra drawn lines in a face, a bit of shade to bodies, redo the carbon board trees in Elwynn Forest to more 'Panda expansion style' graphics, that's it.
"going into arguments with idiots is a lost cause, it requires you to stoop down to their level and you can't win"
Expansion will be horrible, story will be horrible. Lore will be destroyed.
Garrosh, brain dead warrior that knows nothing but how to swing axe. Somehow escapes prison, travels through whole Pandaria unnoticed, GOES BACK THROUGH TIME?????????????????
This is only start.
You are back to world that you already saw and explored. They say it will be savage??!?!?!?!?! Dreanor was beautiful place, how can past peaceful Dreanor be more savage than future Dreanor destroyed by wars, demons, portals, and collapse of whole world ???????
There Garrosh, will "convince" orcs like Grom, Gul`dan, Blackhand, Kilrogg, Kargath that they are on a wrong path ???????????? Garrosh is first who would accept that path lol..
And then to top it all, you will fight probably favorite hero for most of the people, fucking Grom Hellscream.
There are better paths to take from now on. They could go with Azshara lore. They could go with Emerald Dream lore. They could go with Sargeras return lore. Even fucking return of the Lich King would be better than this garbage..
I'm soo looking forward to the new character models Sir Blizz! I mean was that not promised for the lich king expansion let alone the Mists expansion? WoW I can't wait. I also hope you reveal as you promised something about project titan, during your Blizz CON. All my heartfelt wishes go out to Blizzard for doing a great work!

Great first post. Epic!
I want a mmorpg where people have gone through misery, have gone through school stuff and actually have had sex even. -sagil
Seems like a possible return to form, 20 man raids and a return to draenor seems pretty cool to me.
