I heard that EQ2 gained pvp recently. How is it compared to other MMOs? Is the Brigand class (my class) good right now? Thanks.

EQ2 has had PVP for 8 years (since the 1st expansion)
the PVP server is Nagafen
what you may have heard is that "match maker" for battlegrounds will be improved w TOV
I do not PVP so I cannot comment further
