Marvel Heroes: Asgard Trailer Shows Off New Features

Gazillion Entertainment has released a trailer to show off some of the big changes that have arrived in Marvel Heroes Online thanks to the Ascent to Asgard update. According to the development team, Ascent to Asgard is the biggest and most comprehensive update to the game to date. 

Marvel Heroes Game Update 2.0 - Asgard features:


  • Asgard – The realm of the gods will include expansive new zones, a server-wide event to unlock the Bifrost Bridge to Asgard, new supervillains and more. Odin’s Palace will be introduced as a brand new player hub.

  • Playable Villain Loki – Players can now play as the God of Mischief himself. The first playable villain in Marvel Heroes, Loki can use his sorcery to fire magical blasts, control spires of ice, and create illusions to confuse his foes. His ultimate power transforms Loki into a massive Frost Giant, gaining new powers and attacks.

  • New Hero Starting Lineup – Marvel Heroes now has a brand new roster of heroes for new players to choose from. Expanding from the previous five choices, players can now pick a free Marvel superhero from a list of nine exciting and unique playable heroes.

  • More Story Content – The epic story of Marvel Heroes continues in Asgard with brand new story missions featuring fully-voiced motion comics.

  • New Items – New item types like rings and legendary items each have their own new item slots. Players will want to hang on to legendary items, as they grow stronger and gain experience along with the player!

    I play this game very casually.  I play for an hour every other week when I'm bored of my other games.  It just gets old too fast and the drop rates for new heroes and costumes seems way too low.

    Every time I see this game I am bummed by the fact that it's not a 3D Marvel MMO, but a Diablo with a Marvel skin on it... At least I have DC Universe Online.

    Umm there haven't been hero and costume drops for a long time. They were replaced by Energy Splinter drops so I'm not sure how long ago you played last, DOH!

    That could be why a large portion of it.  I have played since launch and have never received a hero or costume piece.  I do have some splinters but isnt it like 200 of them for a costume?

    Actually costumes drop still. I just received a Captain America  Costume yesterday. as far as eternity splinters. If you play regularly, they will come and 400 will be reached in no time at all. I personally love how far the game has come. Also if anyone didn't know. They changed up their starting line up. 9 heroes are now available for choice

    Out of curiosity, what are the new starting heroes?

     

    I want a mmorpg where people have gone through misery, have gone through school stuff and actually have had sex even. -sagil

    +1 I agree completely.

     

    I've never had a costume drop, either in game or via fortune card and I average playing 8 hrs a week since launch. That being said I've only earned 210 splinters. I play this and one other "traditional" MMO.

     

    Last cost I knew was 200 splinters for one of the starter heroes and 400 for most others.

     

    Same question as White Lantern, anyone know what starter heroes were added?

    Honestly, the 2.0 version really should have been launched in the first place.  The game feels much more like a complete game than what it was when released.

    Regular updates like this one really needs to happen... with new chapters and expanded universe stuff.

    The new starter heroes are:

    Captain America

    Black Panther

    Punisher

    Black Widow

    Luke Cage

    Human Torch

    Colossus

    Storm

    Hawkeye

    Scarlet Witch, Daredevil and Thing are no longer starter heroes.
