Since I can't seem to find a good sci-fi or post apocalyptic MMORPG that I would like, let me try something else. How about a 2D, 2.5D, or 3D but with a Runescape-like perspective MMORPG that has no permadeath (losing all or most items on death) and none of that item disappearing stuff (items that disappear when they're repaired too many times or degrade too much). Is that too much to ask or does that also not exist?
I'd prefer Sci-fi or post apocalyptic of course, but right now I'd settle for fantasy. I'd also, of course, like the game to be active and not have hardly any players. I don't care if it's old or new.

There ya go have fun ... great game ... not sci-fi but fits your bill
Both of your posts you are asking for way to much... I actually thought this time i could tell you a game but then besides not wanting permadeath you also dont want to lose your gear when you die... nor do you want iteams to break for whatever reason.
Dumb down your requests a little bit more... Why not try some games you are apposed to just for the sake of trying something new. Dont you feel you are wasting more time trying to find this perfect game vs at least jumping into a few and giving them a try?
Look im going to make a recommendation just because. Well because of a few things you asked for in your past thread and in this one as well.
Wurm Online, great crafting, full world teraforming, somewhat Runescape style perspective, no Permadeath but yes you will lose stuff when you die... There are ways though to limit the loss. Becoming a mag priest for example with 70+ faith will give you a 75% chance to not lose anything when you die.
There is also options to choose from, 2 clusters, one called Epic which is all pvp cluster, and then the Freedom cluster which also has 1 pvp server in it along with 4 other attached pve servers... as well as 2 servers not yet fully connected to freedom yet... What that means is the fact that you cannot sail to and from those 2 servers, but you can with the other 5. You can also choose to hop a Epic portal at any given time to cross over to that cluster.
Give the game a look, and when i say a look i do not mean you tube. Make an account which is free and give it a real go for a few days of play.

Why would I need to "dumb down" my requests? I'm only asking for like three things in a game, it shouldn't be that hard to find. I'm not going to try a game with either of those features because I can't stand them and I think they're stupid, this is like you suggesting I try Hello Kitty Online in my eyes.
I will play a game with item loss of course, but I do not want to lose my primary weapon and armor. Losing anything else is fine with me.
And I have tried Wurm, it's not for me. It's far too clunky and empty for my taste. I'm not wasting time on a game just for the sake of playing it, I'd like one that I'll actually enjoy.
And I've signed up for the beta to Eldevin already, heh.
You could try Dofus. That has the isometric perspective you're looking for.
The requirements you're asking for do exist, but not together. MMORPGs are extremely expensive to build and maintain, and to have any kind of reasonable population density, they require a lot of planning that most indie developers don't address.
A lot of indie games go for the "massive world!!!" feature set, not thinking about the low population base they'll have, thus leading to a horrible population density.
On the other hand, several AAA titles have built their social systems in such a way that there's no real interaction required or encouraged between players; they're just there.
If you're open to something unusual, try Dragon's Prophet. It's not isometric, but it primarily uses the left and right mouse buttons for abilities/combos, which is Diablo-esque. It also has a dragon-collecting mechanic that's interesting.
