My wondering is, is the key actually for a beta? Or one of the lame "Here's two days, so you can just see the game, and no get any time to actual test because you're too busy trying to figure out what to do, before you can break it" tests?
Seriously, I think these companys giving out "Weekend beta test" keys are doing it VERY wrong. A weekend is barely enough to get yourself set with the game, definately NOT enough time to actually try and test something. 95% of the people will just play the game "Cuz I got it free" 3% maybe will "I'm testing honest!" and look at a few things and say "Well they look good to me" Mostly because they havent played enough to know how the skills and such should work. and the rest will try and test properly, have (insert max amount of race/class combos) all at level 3
my guess is that these weekend tests are more about stress testing. In which case that isn't a bad thing given some of the issues that can happen at launch.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."
I've been in the Beta for a while now. Not to be a wet blanket here, but thus far I am rather unimpressed. If the combat doesn't graduate from typical TES fare (clunky animations and all, yep they're included), I wonder how long this game's sub model will even last.
If I could hand my Beta key over to one of you I would. All I can say to those of you waiting is good luck, and I hope you see more in it than I have.

Originally posted by logicbomb82 I use to get into almost all the beta's and some times very early. I started playing MMO's in 1999 with Asheron's Call and have been in tons of betas since then, even some Alpha's. I have found since I turned 31 I rarely get a beta invite. Has there ever been any research done on what age range companies prefer to test there product?
In my experience age does not matter. I have been playing MMO's since SWG came out. In 2005 i would have been 33yo. I have been in plenty of betas (all open though) since then. Just about any MMO that has come out since then i have Open Beta tested it.
I have the opportunity (paid for it actually) to Alpha SC and SotA so I am excited for that.

36 here and nothing has changed for me as to the number of betas I'm invited too. Been playing MMORPGS since Meridian 59 (1996).
no invite for me, considering the direction they have taken with the game i doubt ill play it unless i do get into beta, can't see myself shelling out a sub to another themepark even if it's based in a world i like.

Me to buddies:
I met this babe a few months ago. She was a little shy but she finally gave me the key to her place. Now we're spending the weekend together!
"You've got mail."
HAHA, rest of you are suckers.
Never played any of the TES series, but I do like well-made MMOs,, especially anything that isn't a clone of WoW. So I signed up for beta.
Just got my key.

I must say that I live in Colombia and got an invite... so there's no reason to believe only americans can get into the beta...
PS: I'm thinking of doing some gameplay videos... >:D
