That is simply untrue, Carbine stated multiple times that the beta is global, yes global with a few limitations as maybe china (not even sure if china really is excluded). I personally know of european testers, while I didn't get invited yet.
I am pray to all the gods even the dark ones to get in this game. I understand that not every one like this game cause it is kind of same as wow in some sense. It is not new type of mmo that break the mmo genre. Still I am really happy of the game and it has been 2 years plus since I played this game and I want hands on it.
I have a very healthy contained excitement for this game. One thing that jumped out for me in the article was the "huge seamless world" It sure sounds like there will be tons to explore and do
2014 will be a very interesting year for gaming I think
Should be good enouhg for the odd three to four month until I run out of content and have maxed two or three characters. Just like in any other themepark MMO.
OH look. The beta that wasn't a beta, that wasn't in beta testing but doesn't invite anyone except people they know to a beta that isn't going to happen.
Marketing hype. All talk and no show.
WildStar. The iPhone of the MMO industry.
Hilarious that you are that hurt that you didn't get a key...

Sadly, this game is not as good as I thought it would be. It's not as horrible as TESO but it's up there in what I had anticipated and then fell flat when I got to play it recently. Definitely going to be a while before a "good" MMORPG comes along if these 2 games are where the genre is going.

Umm... I think that is because they were expecting the same graphical style of previous Everquest games and are disappointed by the change in style. Wildstar doesn't have all those preconceived notions of what the game would look like to worry about.
Anyway, GIMMME MAH KEY.
I'm seriously looking forward to this game, it may end up being too twitchy for me, but I love how much thought has gone into all of their system design. I really hope I can find a new home here, as it is the only game coming out soon that I would even consider paying a sub for.
I thought I was done with hotbar style mmos, considering I have more fun with EVE's ui, but these guys seem pretty focused on making the game actually fun. Guess I'll have to give them a chance.
Everything about it looks very promising. I can't wait to get a beta and dive in to see what it's all about. If anyone has a spare key, hook a brother up
I have been watching the twitch streams as they've (re)rolled out classes. I have to say that I'm less excided now that I've watched them. The game appears to be more of a WoW clone than I was expecting. And the combat didn't really seem all that exciting when watching it... maybe the telegraphs need to be faster, or some of the slow charging skills need to be more impactful. (Yes, it's closed beta, so I'm sure there are more changes to come.)
I still want to try Wildstar; my reaction may be much different if I'm in control of the character rather than watching. I will be looking forward to open beta next year... not going to hold my breath for a winter beta invite since it sounds like a small percentage of those that signed up for beta will actually get in (seems to be typical for closed beta).

People like you are why this generation and the next ones to come are doomed. LMAO that your so hurt about not getting a key. This I want instant gratification and everything handed to me is very amusing to watch when you don't get your way ...thanks I needed to LMAO ( its getting big )
Oh and beta does exist I know a few friends / ex-guild mates that got in. Just have to wait our turn
All the butthurtness for not getting an invite, sucks to suck. The game isn't over hyping itself and if you've like what you've seen then you'll like the game.

I find it very interesting that you Elocke would say this. I don't always see things eye to eye with you, but I respect your opinions for the most part.
I am not a part of beta and I doubt I will be, for I detest Social Media, and my stance on that is known, and Wildstar Dev speaks obnoxiously push Social media like a new street drug..... so I seriously doubt they will even want me as a customer let alone a beta tester... but I am still watching this one with some hope. Wildstar's continuing campaign to push Social Media in the Dev Speaks are getting on my nerves, that is a fact.
If your intent was to seed some doubt, well the seed is planted.
Been playing the WS Beta, level'n both Exile and Dominion toons. Been having a blast, BUT, yea... It's an MMO, a very well done and fun experience, with some extra goodies that make the experience fun... But alas, the sky hasn't opened for me, and I have yet to experience what the 'Fandom' is looking for. That said, you can see the detail and talent that has gone into WS. I can only think good things for its future. I'll surely be pick'n it up at launch. Also, I participated in ZERO social media events. I haven't once posted on any of the popular outlets. The claim that the DEV's only hand out BETA keys to those that dig deep into social media are just plain FALSE.
