What do you think of the Fractured update? Will you be checking out what the Fractals now have to offer? Let us know!
I think many people might like it. I won't check it out, since I don't like RNG stuff. When I visit a dungeon, I choose which one to play. But ArenaNet is fond of RNG rubbish in any possible way. Where this should help to reunite players is beyond me. In my guild only one player likes to do fractals out of a dozen still somewhat active.
Originally posted by NobleNerd I haven't played GW2 much lately... mainly because for some reason I lose interest fast. There is just something about the game that does not compel me to stick with it long. I think some have hit on one of the reasons. When you get 1 hit by an enemy over and over it becomes discouraging. The dragon fight in general is one I can think of, but even some of the harder mobs hit too hard. I love a challenge, but there is nothing challenging about hitting so hard if you miss a dodge your dead.
This is why I quit too. The absolute need to bounce around like a ping pong ball in a clothes dryer, even for a plate class, is just stupid. Making mobs strong enough to OHK anybody isn't fun, nor is it challenging in any meaningful way. It's an extremely cheap way to artificially increase the difficulty.
I like difficult games, but only if they're done so in what I like to call the 'Dark Souls' way. DS is challenging, but for the most part it avoids cheap OHK deaths (there are a few exceptions, like Sen's fortress). 99% of the time if you die, it's because you majorly screwed up.
Edit: Forgot to say that dying so easily also doesn't make you feel like much of a hero. More like an average redshirt, IMO.
AN' DERE AIN'T NO SUCH FING AS ENUFF DAKKA, YA GROT! Enuff'z more than ya got an' less than too much an' there ain't no such fing as too much dakka. Say dere is, and me Squiggoff'z eatin' tonight!

So this update isn't fracturing the player-base, eh? I guess you haven't been reading the feedback on the Official Forum regarding this, specifically this ~680 post thread.
So when players say they want a world that actually changes and evolves they're totally full of it. When they say they don't want WoW clones and the same stale crap over and over again, what they really mean is, "We want WoW clones and the same stale crap over and over again."
So the players say, "Give us WoW progression with a WoW style dungeon finder, but make it not seem like WoW progression with a WoW style dungeon finder." Which is it?
I guess thats the reason why after 10 years some millions still play WoW and some more play WoW clones, like SWTOR, Rift etc.
Imo at the end most ppl prefer this kind of mmo style, more than any other. Whatever they say, most of them always return to classic style mmo's, leaving behind new ones very fast.
Originally posted by akuma696 Yes people who are crying about their fractal progression should just suck it up. But unfortunately Anet has screwed everyone over with the new gem store skins in this patch to the extent where i don't even want to try defend that dumb move
And that is the only sane comment here.
Really taking Cultural Armor Tier3 skins add fire on it was kinda lame IMO.
I was thinking they were improving with phalanx armor and kasmeer staff, but...
now: GW2 (11 80s). Dark Souls 2. future: Mount&Blade 2 BannerLord. "Bro, do your even fractal?" Recommends: Guild Wars 2, Dark Souls, Mount&Blade: Warband, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.

This is one thing that ANet should be nailed for. I don't have the T3 cultural, but I do empathize with those who did. The human T3 set is actually more expensive than the one offered on the gem store (120 gold vs 57 gold after gem exchange). Also, exclusivity is a reward in itself for those who worked for it. Having it available to all races is a slap in the face.
I hope this is the last flub that they do. If they continue with reskinning cultural armor and selling it in the gem store, you'll see that population drop. It sets a bad precedent.

I'm so tired of the "new hamster wheel every few weeks" routine, even as long-standing issues go ignored. The combination of hamster wheels and cash shop exploitation has been a frustrating waste of time for me - the drop statistics have been slowly manipulated to the point where either blowing real money in the cash shop or grinding the hamster wheels are increasingly necessary for anything that provides differentiation.
After just over a year, I've basically stopped logging into GW2. It's just not worth it any more. I'd rather wait for one of the newer sandbox games to show up than rehash the latest ride at Guild Wars Disney.
