My opinion
I'm pretty sure it's spring 2014.. It was delayed so the pc version could be released along side the console versions. They decided later on to make it multi platform.

A nice bit of reading. The graphics have come a long way since the first reveal video, where they just felt odd and plastic.
I'm interested in seeing how they can avoid this game becoming "another 3 monther" for most players though. We don't know enough about cyrodiil pvp to say for certain that it is enough to keep players interested, but here's hoping. I also hope max level takes 5-10 times longer than GW2.
It was nothing to do with any leaks, it was all to do with the other platforms and releasing TESO on the PS4, XBOX ONE and the PC all at the same time.
As for the map you can see where each zone is cut off, all the brown bits are non playable areas. So if you take the AD area then you can see that you have 5 different zones but they are not seamless, you have to load in between each zone within that faction area.
The Zones are quite big so you get a feel of being in a large area.
Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!
Subscription Gaming, especially MMO gaming is a Cash grab bigger then the most P2W cash shop!
Bring Back Exploration and lengthy progression times. RPG's have always been about the Journey not the destination!!!
Considering the recent drought of beta sessions, I'm sure they have reworked a lot of their assets for this weeks beta. If the feedback is good enough, I'm sure they'll be getting their marketing gloves on and their beta boots off. I'm guessing 3-4 months till release.
PvP is niche gameplay when it comes to MMOs. They better not be banking on it to keep the majority of players around.
Theres still no EU beta though....
Dunno why if they are are so close to launch?
As far as I saw that was all player conjecture.

That alone is a reason not to play for me. I wouldn't want to have to play with all the rude FPS people that play Xbox/PS4. I've played a lot of FPS games on PS3 and Xbox and I turn off peoples voices because they're so obnoxious. I really prefer mmorpg's and would rather be separated from those that do play FPS's.

IceQueen,
You won't have to. The PC players will be on one server, the Xbox One users on another, and the PS4 users on yet another. There will be no cross contamination. I hope that eases your concerns, in that area at least.
So is raiding.
PvP isn't as niche as some people think, true PvE only players seem the be a much smaller community now a days. I only know one person who doesn't like PvP at all. Meaningful pvp will keep players coming back for more, where as the end all be all of PvE is raiding... which has a much higher barrier to entry and time commitment than PvP. If they are banking on players enjoying pvp enough to sustain subs, then I'm looking forward to seeing what they have to offer.
That does, thanks. If I decide to play that would be a big factor, thanks!

^^ This... The PvP is on the end of my list of concerns. I'd much prefer if the game had none.
I personally would of been more happier if the game didn't have any PvP either but only if they put the time and energy to create a truly dense and populated explorable world with dungeons and other places of interest every few hundred yards like in Skyrim or Oblivion. But seeing as that exploration centric game philosophy is not as prevalent (it's still there but highly neutered) then the next best thing is DAoC style PvP.

....and look where that is getting today's crop of MMOs. Banking on niche content, no matter the type is a losing formula. Developers haven't learned yet that they need to make casual content at the high end of the game too. Casuals comprise the majority of the market, yet developers keep trying to force them into hardcore content at end game and then wonder why they bleed subs even when the game is good. The fallacy that casual content is too easily burned through and therefore not worth the time to make for high end, won't cut it anymore, especially when it's the hardcores and power-gamers who are the ones whining about it and not the casuals that it's targeted at. The only niche content that is likely to appeal to casuals would be crafting, but it still remains niche even in the casual market.
I know I don't know you, but I love you. You are a saint, scholar, and paragon of virtual virtue. Thank you!
