After seeing that new video, I have decided to get 2 of the $20 packs.  In game items will have the same or better mods.

Oh knowing SOE, they will have another pack when EverQuest Next goes live, no doubt about that. I'll just fork over my money when that announcement arrives.

i emailed support, they will have Next packages in 9 or 10 months. this is an extremely rough estimate i was told.

I love free to play, especially the part where you spend $200 for a free game you've never seen or played.  Makes total sense.

The pricing for this free to play game is actually pretty ruthless.

    I am amuse.

Hey folks, Landmark will be free to play and available before the end of the year for everyone (this was the BS they spewed earlier this year).

Now the reality is you'll pay 20-200 depending on how much of a sucker you are for a late product that'll only be in alpha in February.

You should trust this company and give them 200, for sure.

I remember when people were paying 200 for Neverwinter ahead of time...and what a generally crappy game that ended up being.  Wonder how many of those folks are happy about that purchase now.

Premium MMORPGs do not feature built-in cheating via cash for gold pay 2 win. PLAY to win or don't play.

People are paying to be able to Alpha/Beta test and hopefully have some input in the development of LM/EQN. I'm sure there are many that plan to just "play", but many actually want to make both games the best possible and are willing to pay to do so. While probably not earth shattering, they are also purchasing extra bonuses on top of the access, which for some is worth the extra cost. Same as collectors editions. It's a risk for sure, but no different then a kickstarter or some other investment that people want to see turn out well. Difference is that SOE is a company with a lot of resources compared to two random guys with a great idea.

I'm still debating if I want to pay myself, not that I can't afford it, but I'm not sure if I can afford to be sucked into a alpha/beta test with my other current responsibilities. I already waste enough time trying to talk about EQN on here and reddit lol.

If you have the time, play it.
