Apple has patented its own VR goggles to rival Oculus Rift and Steam's own VR goggles for its steambox.

Good news for VR developers everywhere, bad news for their competition.

No need to worry. Apple wiil do something similar to what they did with their motherboards. They'll stick an IC chip on them so they will only work with the Apple OS.

And then Apple will attempt to sue Oculus Rift into oblivion for copying them.

    lol.

Those guys at Oculus truly have a passion for what they do, and it's an exciting time for VR technology. I wish them all the best and will continue to support them throughout their endeavors.

Come on... is there really any doubt Oculus will be in a league of its own? Trust in Carmack.

Right on! The more the merrier! I will probably never buy or use the Apple goggles (unless they have something more significant to offer than the Apple logo and a massive price tag).

VR locked to a system that typically does not have the GPU power to render VR without inducing motion sickness.
