World reset?

Alright, I've tried to do my homework before asking, and failed.
I looked through both the main FAQ and the one on independent community site, and I could not find this mentioned anywhere, yet I see people mentioning it off-hand.
The game world will reset every few days? Reset in which way, and how often?

I haven't read anything about a world reset, that doesn't sound right. Certainly there would not be a reset of accounts/avatars/ships.
I think what you are misinterpreting is the concept of disputed cities/ports, which after a certain amount of time, reset to a new faction or the original one depending on which side scores more total points.

The only things that reset are the ports which are taken by the players. They reset to their original status after six weeks.
The rest of the 'world' remains the same.
...and, it may not reset perfectly back to its original state.
Don't strictly quote me on this, but one of the developers did show some uncertainty about this one some time ago. It is a possible design concept that not all of the ports and cities will return to its original owners.
I wonder how much input the developers will have on each reset or will it just be an automated actions?
