A new Halo RPG?

Well folks, it has come to me that I was searching through the net for a couple of new MMORPG's until all of a sudden my eyes popped open ::::06:: to read that Halo: Combat Beyond is coming out as an MMORPG.

Now, I know all of you will think I'm nuts but there WAS an article about it somewhere in this UK MMORPG site. I don't know if it is really true but they said things like "There will be two sides to choose from, the Covenant and the Humans/Spartans."

If any of you guys could confirm this for me it is true or not please post A.S.A.P because I can't stand bull****! I know some of you guys wouldn't... Would you? ::::37::

    it's BS!
They are currently working on Halo 3 and it's coming oout next year to Xbox 360.
As a big hit in the console gaming world Halo would really make a fuzz if they where developing a mmorpg.
So i can safly say it's a load of crap

    Cheers ;)

We shall all die in vain.. you decide how!

I personally have never really liked Halo, its just so... blah. I feel as if I running around doing the same thing over and over again just in different areas.

Ill be looking forward to Huxley, a great MMO-FPS-RPG coming out next year for PC and 2007 for Xbox 360 (I myself being a PC Gamer). They have it on the game list, check it out, for further information checkout www.huxley-nexus.com

I have also heard a rumor about this, but really don't think it's true cuz of Halo 3 for the XBOX 360. It would be cool to have a halo game like this though.

i would not be suprised if they did sure ppl will bitc* and moan but they make the game for money thats it noone cares about the players these days its a lost cause and RPG's even mroe so mmorpg's are making the most money now a days so why not convert a game into it ppl complain but they have no idea how good it could be or how bad untill it happens so dont crap your pants till it happens or not its there choice not ours

no friggin way on earth is that game an MMORPG. Halo is based solely on its FPS l33tness. However, an MMOFPS does seem within the realm (think about it, having 10000s of people with the same specs on there machine playing on a l33t server, thast what MMOFPS need :P)

i personally think Halo will never make a good MMORPG. Why? It's an FPS. Only games like Neocron could pull off a good MMOFPS. If halo were an MMO, it would be very boring from the start, and would be hard to follow. In some ways it could be like guild wars mixed with an MMORPG but what happens when you blow up the world at the end?

I'm not sure why people think that Halo isn't a viable option as an MMORPG (MMOFPS).

The books describe a fairly decent setting for such a game. They depict a very large ongoing conflict that took place in various settings. Additionally, both spartans and the covenant possess various skills/roles. There are various weapons/armor/vehicle upgrades. Even the books' "slipspace" travel seems ideal for a MMORPG. With such a large established gaming fanbase and so much of the creative work at least partially fleshed out, I can't see why this wouldn't be given serious consideration.

    Also, Microsoft likes money.
