Two things about the character creator that bug me to the point of not wanting to play

wilbergwilberg Member Posts: 182

1) oh my god the forearms. I thought WoW was bad at making all of the males look like deformed gorilla men. The entire upper bodies of each races males with exception to the aurin are too big, especially when compared to the lower body. There are no body sliders to adjust the sizes either, or body choices. Ewwww...

2) Hairstyles for a few of the races are pretty generic and uninspired. this one may be more preference, but this games hairstyles have nothing on GW2s (actually, the entire char creator for that matter).

just my two cents..

So...forearm size and hairstyle is what makes or breaks a game for Wilberg. Got it.

I refuse to play SWTOR because of lack of chat bubbles and zones being copies where you have to open a map to select your instance, also not being one big open world

I wonder, do you happen to become uncontrollably violent if someone leaves the toilet seat up?

    could have fooled me.

you don't play swtor because it doesn't have chat bubbles?

doesn't sound like there will ever be a game you will enjoy.

LFD tools are great for cramming people into content, but quality > quantity.
I am, usually on the sandbox .. more "hardcore" side of things, but I also do just want to have fun. So lighten up already :)

GW2 isn't made by a Korean company. In fact it's published by NCSoft which is Korean but that's the same company publishing Wildstar :). So it's just as Korean as Wildstar.

So you never saw any video or concept art of Wildstar before?

Their 3D artists take their inspiration from Disney, Pixar etc. (http://youtu.be/gOGpVA5Z0P8?t=1m58s) From the get-go it was clear that Wildstar reminded me of characters like

You either like it or you don't. I don't see the problem. They know perfectly well what their target is and they're going for it 100% instead of half-assing it.

Any chance to plug GW2 eh.

What an odd reason to not play a game.  To me that's like saying "I refuse to go San Francisco because the Golden Gate is red and not gold."  You're missing out on a world of things to do because you don't like the gateway into it?  To each their own I suppose.

"Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country."

Too many people spend too much time looking for reasons why they won't like something rather than looking for reasons why they will.

What bothered me with wow was the way the humans ran like they had crapped themselves.

I don't mind the art style in Wildstar- light-hearted and cartoony is fine my me.

I suppose Pixar and Disney movie are too ugly to watch too. Cory Loftis (designer on Wreck it Ralph and Frozen) was the lead designer for WildStar and his art set the template for the game. The millions of people are enjoying those films are apparently able to stomach large forearms. Pro tip: Never watch Popeye.

If in 1982 we played with the current mentality, we would have burned down all the pac man games since the red ghost was clearly OP. Instead we just got better at the game.

Only thing I would want is to have varying body sizes. As it is now it is just one stock body for each race and gender.

I agree that the character creation is lacking, It reminds me of TF2 (graphic style in general actually). In TF2 it doesnt matter what silly hats everyone wears, the class is still easily recognisable because of the body type. Which is maybe fine for a shooter, but not for a MMO I think. I expect more diversity from a character creator in a MMO.
