    A jaded hater I must be. The game sounds decent but the company behind it does not. 

    Maybe a good deal for some who were on the fence about getting it tho.

    and I wouldn't argue that you have had no reason to be jaded.  The game currently is not where it should have been a year ago, but things are getting better.  That said, I'm having the best time and more fun than any of the other MMO's I've played.

    As someone who might want to get back into it, I have a bit of a problem. I bought the game on steam but apparently after the license "expired," i now have to buy it again. who do i take this up with?

    This sounds strange.

    Do you confuse buying the client with the monthly subscription fee, maybe?

    All i needed to do was go into accounts and renew the subscription. It's weird.

    Having paid for the first one already, and being required to pay for it again seems like a good enough reason to not give them more money. 

     

    I'll give it a try when they let me pay just the 15$ for a month.

    Do you blame other game companies too if they release a sequel ? And wtf, the 14$ sale already includes 1 month gametime that is cheaper than the subscription lol.

    Also if you owned the first game there was a 6 month promotion last year were every customer who owned DF1 could buy the new game for the sub only. They even send e-mails to registered accounts.

    If you owned DF1 you werent required to pay for the DFUW client.

    What happens when you log in with your old DF1 data into https://ams.darkfallonline.com/AMS/ ?

    (my mid term memory is horrible, so i cant remember the exact process, but i do remember that one had not to pay for the client if you bought original Darkfall)

    It tells me account not found when I try to do a password reset.

    No, but this isn't a sequel, I never got an email, and when I tried to get the game during that 6 month period it told me then like it does now that I have no account. 

    Edit:  I obviously didn't look very closely to see that they're giving 30 days with it. 

     

    Still not willing to give them the money though, sorry.  AV is a horrible company that doesn't deserve the money in my opinion.

    Guns of Icurus is only 3.75, and can't possibly be any wore than darkfall. 

    Already spent like $20 on steam in the last 20 minutes, and there will be new games everyday; another reason not to buy DF:UW.

    np,enjoy the steam sale and the single player games. i can understand that one does not want to give money to AV. They were far away from beeing honest

    No excuses - the game just sucks, lol  Why do you think it died so quick.,....

    The population dropped because AV did not provide quick enough content updates.  It did not die though.  Stabilized with a solid core of hundreds of gamers who have no other game that is like Darkfall to turn to.  As I have stated in my other thread, Darkfall is seeing a resurgence in population.  With the most recent update, I find myself increasingly optimistic that this game will indeed continue to grow.  At least for as long as there is no real competition.

    this is the main selling point for darkfall. there is no other game like it. No huge open world, no full loot, no FPS combat, no large scale ontop of an MMO world combined.

    this game is bad,

    i brought it on steam ages ago... but its disapeard  from my account and says i dont own it anymore...

    so that put me off lol

    beside gfx were bad, the feel of the game felt bad... i saw not one person in the noob town... that fist person view when fighting and stuff im not a fan of.... im a jade hater... lol

    you need to actiave your subscription and it is back in your libiary. 

     

    You can also switch the camera with G so you dont have to play in first person....or you played Darkfall Online which wasnt released on steam

     ok i has a question. i never bought this new darkfall (played it for some time on friends acc) but now that its on sale ... 

     

    so here is it - im euro, can i play on NA server and more important can i somehow buy it for 14$ instead of 14 euros :D (and pay monthly sub in $ which i understand is 15$ instead of 15 euros and thats just dumb)? I guess im lucky im not from the UK or id have to pay 15 pounds for sub image

     

    i know theres a way to do so for steam games ($ instead of euros), but i dont want to purchase it via steam because some people are having problems with DF steam version image

    nope there is no way. The explanation why it is 15€ is because we euros got the VAT while the US doesnt have it.

    66% off or 100% still not giving this company anymore of my money they clearing lack the vision a decent MMo requires, maybe he should work with Brad on his kickstarter the two together could maybe recover some credibility, though I doubt it.

    Save your money and go out for a Christmas drink and socialize instead with people you love and care about, this game will die like the last one did that you can believe for sure.

    66% off is a last attempt for them to get some cash for Christmas! image

    Even with a free copy still not worth my 15$ a month. Game would have time 100% free for me to even consider logging in once in a while.

    well and in the meanwhile we enjoy the 3 new patches and the newly added content ( finally) that lets the unique combat system and gameworld shine.

    Does jaded hater mean someone smart enough to realize the game has the graphics and gameplay of a 10 year old game while also managing to be much worse then the original? If so then 95% of reviewers and players are jaded haters of DFUW for "no justifiable reason."
