I just don't get why some here post of games they hate. How can a video game with over 7 million be crap or trash? I understand not liking a video game but the fact that it's one of the few mmos left with a sub and has more players then the rest of the AAA mmos combined is a pretty good indicator it's far from crap or trash.
I see a lot of people saying gw2 is better I just don't see that I found gw2 to be fairly boring, but I just stopped playing and never spammed any thread about gw2 about how bad I thought it was. Hey to say you don't like wow and give the op specific examples of why it's bad but to just say it's trash or crap is just a sad hate post.
Blizzard is moving away from the 5 man instances and outside of raiding, focusing more on three man instances called scenarios. So if you were concerned about 5 man's. don't worry, you can get much better gear from the three man instances that don't require a tank or healer.

Lmao what an epic fail post buddy.... Here is a link for your viewing pleasure...they have already started working on the next expansion. Do a little research before you post please.

Well this is not true, not on live and I haven't heard any indication this is happening in Warlords of Draenor.
Play MoP if you like raiding, want to experience the lore/questing, and/or you like things like Pet Battles (Pokemon) and Farmville type things.
The last two are 100% optional, I've done neither.
But if you don't like raiding, the questing is great in MoP, but you'll level 85-90 with 2-4 zones worth of quests to still do.
If you do like raiding, it's easier than ever to get into.
I literally finished leveling my Paladin to 90, went to Timeless Isle, started running heroics, and then did LFR once (cleared all of the previous tiers) the week before the new raid tier came out.
My Paladin is now my main and I have a good 3-4 kills on each boss in LFR Siege of Ogrimmar.
I log in to do my weekly LFR, and that is about it.
I do want to go back and get some more acheivements and clear old content for $$ and transmog items.
I'd also like to level up my Fishing and Archaeology to 600, as my cooking is close to 580 (and extremely easy to catch up in MoP) and my primary professions are maxed (JC/Miner).
I WISH there were ways to progress your character outside of raiding, but there really isn't (except for PvP of course, which doesn't interest me as much.)
So if I'm playing outside of raiding, I'm fishing/surveying or plowing through old content for achieves/$ or finishing out my exploration achievements.

I totally agree.
If the rewards for PvP pet battles assisted PvP, I would play again.

The OP is now asking a very good question - what is the PvP experience like if all you want to do is PvP?
This is a very good question because WoW at the moment seems very raid-centric. It's tempting to speculate that if you don't raid, you won't do well at PvP.
Therefore, I eagerly hope that someone will answer this - it may influence whether I return to WoW or not.

First good job on moving on and not looking back this is a huge issue in mmos. People not liking a game and crying and whining for years about there are plenty of games find one you like.
ok if you were a guild leader and talked to people that asked questions like you did here I have a hard time believing you had a very large or successful guild. I don't see any issue asking how is the a current state of the game.
Out of curiousity has PVP change much? Is battlegrounds and Arena still the same?
Also is there a new open world PvP zone? How is it?
I guess what im getting at is if I can fill some of the void with PvP than it wont be too bad.
I used to do Arena when it first came out and enjoyed battlegrounds.
Open world Pvp was pretty fun when BC came out.
The game is in pretty much the same state as WOTLK. If you want to do serious dungeon runs, youll need a solid group / guild and to do the challenge modes. The LFG / LFR stuff is stupidly easy, so don't look for a challenge with random players. You can however do challenge modes and flex raids with other players using the OQueue addon.
For PvP its much of the same. The timeless isle offers a lot of open world PvP as it funnels all players gearing up there and prohibits the use of flying mounts. There are also unique rewards for PvPing in that zone.

With your attitude I highly doubt that you were a guild leader.
With that out of the way, like I said in the post that I stopped playing when ICC came out. I have no idea really how Cata was, but heard it wasent very good at all. Now with MOP out I really do have no idea if they fixed a lot of the issues or if things got worse. Before WOTLK I really enjoyed WOW and thats why I asked people who played in Vanilla and BC about their thoughts on the state of the game currently.
A good advice, when you start just now or come back after a full year or more: start with a level 1 from scratch on a new server.
Preferably a tank and go do all these great things and dozens of dungeons again.
I found out that it is too late to jump in and start with your old 80-85, because catching up for the end game of MoP is not really fun.
After a few years the game feels fresh again and being a tank lets you join groups in no time.
By playing casually you'll hit 90 in a few months and wait for the Dranei WarLord expansion, so you are on equal footing with the other guys.
At least that's what I do now: dungeon crawling as a noob tank, starting with deadmines and doing ALL dungeons up to and including lvl 90, but forget the end game of MoP, too late for that, wait for May/June and the Dranei launch to raid etc ...
Wait for the new expansion, then Mop will go free...............
Actually it is better to start a few months before a new expansion or you'll run behind again.
I think returning to WoW is best done 3-4 months before a new expansion, so you are on equal footing.
As I think this over ... I started WoW in Oct 2006, 3/4 months before TBC and I restarted playing just now with a fresh new character. The running behind the end game of MoP with starting lvl 85's is not much fun to me and so I did not play much until I restarted the game from scratch.
It is better to start from 1 and get a hang of the new things. Much better.

Dark Age of Camelot
I picked up MoP in the sale, not played WoW for about two years but at that price I figured, why not.
i gotta tell you, I'm having a blast, MoP is a really good expansion, loads of stuff to do.
Thing is, only you know if you will enjoy it, same with any game.
Expresso gave me a Hearthstone beta key.....I'm so happy
