There where quite some negative comments by supposed beta testers.. But then, who says they where actually in beta?
All nine people i know that are actually in the beta, refuse the say anything more then the usual, i love what i see. Withouth commenting why... I have heard no negatives from them..
Problem is anyone that wants to hurt a game can quote things and cry this game will never work, while hinting they where part of the beta testing..
There is only one way to know for sure, and that is to try it for yourselves..
And if you think your gaming needs require sandbox gaming, stay away from this game and never return to this gaming forum.

I love how you have to state the obvious on these forums.
People like things, some people don't, Make up your own mind. I see where you're coming from though, there's more sheep than shepherds.
When has an NDA drop ever had any affect on these games selling massive amounts of copies at launch? Contrary to popular belief around here, the moment you're waiting for "spilling the beans" really won't sway many one way or the other in their final decision to buy or not to buy.
We all know the game will review well, as every major MMO has before it, sitting around an 8-9 in most initial reviews. It might even fail and be F2P in a few months. Regardless, there isn't much that's going to change this game selling large numbers, too many factors that essentially guarantee that. Most notable of which being, the number of devices it's releasing for, as well as the success of the IP the game shares.

Try it yourself I say to EVERY game, even ones that I don't like. Thus when I played GW2 and I said I think its not very good, I still always suggest people give it a try during the free trial times, since we all have some different tastes in games. Its silly to really emphasize trying a game when I think that should be an obvious given to any game if possible, ideally without having to spend money to see if you like it.
Negative comments are stuff people really feel about a game. As for my feelings, I respect the NDA and as much as I want to shout about how I feel of the game, I have to wait till it is lifted to mutter a word.
All I have to say is stingy NDAs in many cases (not all) are used to hide the fact a game might not be "as great" as people originally imagined it, or simply to buggy that they feel it could negatively effect the view of a game even if the game itself is fine.
I didn't take his "stay away" in that way at all. It looked like he was more or less saying if you want a sandbox, look elsewhere. Which is the same exact advice I'd give.
As for his overall point, the "I'm in beta" led arguments are rather pointless to acknowledge, it's a surefire way to ensure locked threads and deleted posts.

to be honest, i don't listen to any opinions here on any games because if i did i would hate every game.
its true that all you can do is try it yourself and never listen to what people on the forums say unless it's backed up with facts.
for example, i personally don't like EQN cartoony art style, i don't need to play the game or listen to other peoples opinions to know i don't like that.
or if someone only wants to play indie sandbox games (which is a lot of people on these forums apparently) then it's clear they will not like this game.
to each their own.
The response of the community is the only way to know what you are buying before buying it. The professional reviewers of games are shills for the industry and "fanboi" is usually synonymous with viral marketing consultant. It is the naysayer that is most credible as they have nothing to gain. In other words don't be the fool who PAYS to enter a turd tasting contest.
My research so far is encouraging me to wait until it launches and then watch live streams and read consumer reviews for a month or so before considering investing my entertainment dollars. That's right game industry , you have burned me for the last time, now you have to earn my money.

Not true. Many of the naysayers have axes to grind and often they are just trolling. Its ridiculous to suggest that anyone that likes a game must be paid by the company and anyone that dislikes it is a selfless truthteller. And FYI, its just as possible for companies to pay people to make negative comments about competitors as to make positive comments about their game.

You sir are doing it right. +1 for you
There will always be people that are willing to break NDA to tell you how awful an MMO is, so nothing new there.
But the one thing that worries me is that MMOs that have such a strict NDA this close to release have not been good.
It conveys a lack of confidence in their product.
I think this thread should be closed, honestly. It's doing nothing productive and it's baiting people into breaking NDA (you aren't even allowed to reveal you are in beta from my understanding).
As for negativity about the game you don't need beta access to say why you don't think Elder Scrolls is going to be very good. I can say that Elder Scrolls Online is going to be a mediocre single player game and a horrible MMO from the information that's available about the game right now. We've seen the combat, it's not that great IMO and we know they are making the GW2 mistake of having no endgame beyond dungeon groups and world PvP (which are also severely limited by a 4 person group size). I'm sure there will be plenty more revealed about the game once the NDA is lifted.
I think it's fine to be negative about Elder Scrolls. There are a few positives about the game, but right now I'm not seeing a MMO that does anything special or even just does the same old same old better than other MMOs. Defending every aspect of the game and saying you can't say anything negative about it is just as destructive (maybe more so) than just trashing the game left and right.
I tend to enjoy some of the I'm in beta and this game sucks comments from some people. Only because I know when the game launches those same people are still going to be complaining about how the game sucked and they only played the first month..blah blah blah.
I guess watching some poor adict with no willpower suffer because of it makes me laugh. I guess I'm just a bad person

In all honesty is TESO going to be a solid game? Yes. Does it look good? Yes. Is it going to better that average, or what is already out? NO. TESO will be fun to some, but most will find it to be more of the same. I did enjoy the beta, but TESO tries to hard to please both fans and mmorpg players. It is suffering an identity crysis that will turn fans and mmo players off. That is just my opinion. I am in no way saying it is awful. That is not the truth.
My comments have nothing to do with sandbox. The game is just average. Much like Rift. A solid game, but nothing more than an average mmo.

I agree with you on most points but i'll still buy the game because of my love for TES. You are actually allowed to say you are in the beta the devs have confirmed this.
Think you summed it up nicely, it has nothing to do with the game being a themepark or sandbox. It's an average mmo with a big named IP that will pull in the numbers, many console players will snap up the game.
Being told by the OP to never return to this forum which is a public forum is a joke.
It is not the naysayers who you should listen to. You mean the ones who cried mages couldn't wear plate those naysayers?
You out mean the ones saying there is a cash shop? Those naysayers?
The ones who have a complete understanding of how the game will be even though we have only been to level 17 those naysayers?
the ones who keep saying the last beta was the "finished product" you mean those naysayers?
The ones who want a sandbox? Those naysayers?
The ones who want it free cause that's what they are entitled too? Those naysayers?
Yeah ah the naysayers are not the ones you should be listening too.
What the hell was that?
Why would naysayers want it for free? I don't want it at all. If it was released for free with no stipulations I still would not play it.
