As with most MMOs at this time of year, WildStar has its own in-game celebration, the first of what is hoped to be many more. We take a look at WildStar, lore, celebrations and much more. Read on!
Besides Winterfest, speculation was rife in this Reddit Thread about what other holiday events WildStar might include. While we already know of a couple that tie closely to real-world celebrations, I’m also hoping that the studio manages to sneak in a couple of completely lore-based festivals. After all, what better to help strengthen that sense of a unique game-world?

I want to know when are they going to release.
ESO is april, destiny is September nobody wants to be close to elders scrolls.
lol me too
If they don't do some open beta before EQ Next hits alpha, WoW 2 is going on the back burner. If they don't DO an open beta, I'll definitely move to the franchise I'm familiar with.
Heck, EverQuest Next Landmark already made my $99 just for giving the opportunity to try it ASAP. Bravo Sony.
I'm hoping they actually have the game to a state where they can have in-game holiday events within 6 months of launch. Recalling the horrible Age of Conan and the equally bad Star Wars: The Old Republic launches, both had no evens in over 6 months post-launch due to the backlog of repairs and patches that they were trying to apply to sinking ships. Yes, the term "patch" can be used in both definitions on those two games.
Carbine needs to take a page from A.Net and Guild Wars 2, in that if you're going to be launching a few months prior to holidays, have content for said holidays at the ready prior to launch. GW2 only launched in August 2012, but still had a Halloween and Wintersday (Christmas time) holiday ready for the time when it came.
around 20 of the Carbine staff are ex-Blizzard

"Carbine was formed by 20 or so of the seniors and leads of WoW after WoW launched.
I'm hoping that bodes well,
Blizzard had Christmas activities one month after launch
EQ2 fan sites
And many Warhammer Online devs were veteran DAoC devs.......and several SW:TOR devs used to work on WoW (such as Barry Ellis, Phil Cory, and Aaron J Greusel), Planetside (Roy Fleck), and so on.
My point? Don't judge someone based on their previous work, but instead on the work they do now. Some work was good in the past, but maybe the individuals that worked on the now 7+year old engine of WoW aren't as good with the new engine of Wildstar.

It is an mmo site. You will hear lots of mmo vocabulary.
You could also head over to performance automotive sites and complain they use the term "horsepower" too much if that makes you happy.
You stay sassy!
I want to care about in game dates but really the only date I care about is the release date.
In my opinion, if Wildstar hasn't released by Valentines day, it will hurt their sales. EQNL is end of Feb. ESO beginning of April, Wow expansion in Fall not to mention others on the horizon like The Division (though not a true MMO) and Indies like Star Citizen and Repop- the window of opportunity is quickly closing. Add the 832 hours of streaming video from the NDA freed press that the betaless fans just had to bleed through combined with the already high fan fatigue for this game and I think they're pushing their luck.
Time is of the essence.
No bitchers.
this!
Tormented echoes of a fallen Eden
I longed for her beauty
Yet from dust, she returned
The dream, an enigma.... silent
Why do they keep taunting us with all this information and we can't play? Not even any information on open beta/release date? C'mon now..
The good news is to just tell us and we do not want to know any winter events if we can't be there. Gah.
This.
WildStar is the one MMO I would love to beta test for, the MMO I would love to play in any capacity, ... and yet I haven't gotten a single email from Carbine even though I verified with NCSoft that they can indeed contact me if they wished to.
If I were the paranoid type I would be thinking right now that Carbine didn't want some of us anywhere near WildStar.
Well I hope they have fun. Happy Holidays.
Personally I'll be skipping this WoW 2.0 without much thought. However, if you're not yet completely fed up with WoW, this might be the game for you.
Of course WildStar has problems, all MMOs have problems that need to be fixed before, at, and after Release. A MMO isn't "ironed out" sometimes for months. I expect WildStar to have problems, that is why there is a Beta Program, to help fix the problems.
Repeatedly on these forums I have stated my opinion of the "Masses" and why I feel they have no place in MMOs,... and YET... You toss me in with "the Masses" that I despise so fully [mod edit]
Hopefully they will release it when it is ready, not to meet some imaginary deadline. As to Destiny, it is console only, it has fail written all over it.
Events like the one mentioned here should never be activated while the game is still in limited release. The event is great for those lucky few that have access to the game; However, it is like a slap to the face of those that cannot take part in the event.
Just saying....
Ratero.
I agree with you - I'm fed up with the continual hype and no action.
The game is undergoing Beta testing and is not in any form of release. Additionally from the article it sounds like the devs were just spreading some holiday cheer to the current tester population so it is hardly a slap in the face.
