Looking for a game to play for awhile - help please!

Hi everyone!  Been a part of MMORPG for a decade and this is my first post and hoping for some insight from the community.  I'm guessing what I want doesn't exist but here's what I'm looking for.

Group play optional.  I like other people in the world but I also like to see what I can accomplish on my own and only group up when I feel like it.

Long leveling process.  I'm not in a hurry to level and I hate knowing I am going to outlevel my gear in minutes.

PvP optional.  Consensual PvP is fine, I'm not looking to get ganked every time I move, I prefer in-game bad guys not other players.  I don't care if everyone else does it, I prefer not to have to.

Large world, modern graphics.

Pricing model - flexible.  I don't mind subscriptions or micro transactions, just not pay-to-win.

I don't want to have to grind raid content or the same dungeons ad nauseum just to get decent gear.

Prefer a player driven economy (not EvE... great game but no interest in flying around getting shot out of the sky)

Fantasy, Sci-fi, horror are all fine, I'm more concerned with having fun than the setting but again I want to enjoy what I'm looking at too.

Tough part is I have played sooo many.  I miss Siege Perilous of Ultima Online making you work for what you get.  I miss EQ for world size and gameplay (just can't go back to that level of graphics or I'd probably try it again).

I am open to major title or indy company.  I don't want my hand held nor a second job, I just want to feel like I earn what I get.

So are there any hidden games out there I may not know of?  I've played almost every major title of the last 15 years and while I'm waiting for ESO I'd love to find a new gaming home.

Thanks in advance, and I realize what I want probably doesn't exist.

It is in fact EvE with Mechwarriors. Pretty cool game but not too fancy on the graphics

Yeah, Perpetuum isn't going to work for me, can't get into being a robot and too PvP centric but looks like a good game for those who are looking for that Eve kinda feel.. my search continues!

    Did you try Fallen Earth?

Also If you like oldies Earth and Beyond has been ressurected from the grave.    That should definitely make the sleeper list.

E&B on Net7 is awesome, they have been working on it for years...

If you played it before, its damn near 100%

I think there are a few things left to hash out but its worth a look for sure!!

Yea its basically live now as I understand  it , they no longer have any server wipes planned, as they have in the past.

There are minor issues with the game freezing at gates, which in my experience happens about  one or twice every couple hours, so not really a game breaker for me.   There is the occasional login glitch but they seem to get fixed pretty easy.   I have played glitchier games for sure, pretty incredible considering the game is 15 years old.

I am seeing between 200 and 300 players on most times and of course the community remains pretty helpful and civilized as always .   Its not the deepest MMO out there, but it has its charms, not the least of which is a sense of danger every time you visit unknown space.  Not many games give me that feeling anymore.
