Your character can transfer over to EverQuest Next at launch.
Georgeson explained that this would allow players to familiarize themselves with a class and prepare to multiclass from day one of the EverQuest Next launch.

That's interesting, I had thought that you would just be unlocking Adventurer levels for a new character, not transferring the character over. Does that mean the full launch race list will also be available to Landmark? No point in creating a human if, for instance, you're committed to bringing your Ratonga back to life in EQN.
EQN will most likely have it's own Alpha/Beta so lots of time for them to add races between LM Alpha and EQN release. I'd guess that they will allow race switching up until release, maybe even after. Another P2W cash shop item /s.

Landmark will have human only at release, if they add races to landmark one of the dev said we will be able to switch our existing character(s).
They currently don't seem that much interested in adding races to Landmark though and nothing says that if you import a landmark character to EQNext that you can't redo his look anyway.

No they won't. They're two separate games. EQN may have something similar at a later date nearer to release though.
I'd bet heavy that there will be specific EQN packs when the game gets closer to beta. F2P game, they have to make their money somewhere
as others have stated, no

they are two seperate games
but EQNext will allow you to import your Landmark character
for purposes of unlocking the Adventure class and keeping your character name (I assume?)
no gear will transfer but landmark blueprints probably will
