In the next few months I'd like to put together a budget gaming build. I'm Canadian so Canadian sites would be appreciated!
I have no preference to AMD or Intel system. It would be used for MMORPGS, FPS. (Rift/CS:GO/Rust/DayZ..etc). I will have some wiggle room if its not to much off. I don't get a chance to keep up with the new stuff coming out so I figured I'd post here for some help. Just the best bang for buck and good performance.
I have the following:
Monitor
Case
Keyboard/Mouse
Hard drive (brand new not used 500gb)
DVD Burner
Windows 7
I need the following:
Motherboard
CPU
Memory
GPU
PSU
Thanks in advance!

For that budget? Don't.
Anything under 900 will be outdated faster than you can imagine. But if you really have to have a pc: go find a cheap second-hand one somewhere. People often sell perfectly fine pre-made pc's for really cheap because the graphics card sucks or got outdated. Buy one of those and then replace the graphics card.
Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?
Final Fantasy 7
Exactly which case and hard drive do you already have? Also, has your Windows 7 license ever been used for another computer? If it has, you can't reuse it.
Case is: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119137

I have a Windows 7 untouched OEM license.
This is a test message to see if Cylint's post has broken the thread.
Edit: the post broke itself, but not the entire thread, so subsequent posts should be fine.
If you're willing to go over your stated budget by about $100, then you could try this:

It's possible to bring that down some by going with a cheaper video card. But if you want to stay within a strict $600 budget, I'd wait 10 days to see what AMD's upcoming Kaveri chip offers, as that will likely be the best option for a strict $600 CAD budget.
Off topic:
Sure would be nice if some of this Advertising revenue went toward actually fixing/improving this 1995-era BBS forum software. All those months of enduring Scarlet Blade ads should count toward something.
My opinion is to just hold off a few weeks / months until you can scrape together another 200-300 CAD. IMO it would be worth the wait to get a better build.
Other than that buy what Quiz posted, though you will still need to extend the budget for that.
For a strict 600 budget wait and see what AMDs new offering is. Chances are you can get a decent system with integrated graphics that will serve until you can slap a good gpu in there.
Maybe take a look at this as just an idea.

Its an AMD build but should be within your stated budget with the components you already have.
While that's good if you need to get something on budget right now, in two weeks, Kaveri will be out, and will probably get you something substantially better for the same price.
Probably. Hence in my other post I advised waiting.
I picked parts that are available today, not in 2 weeks and not based on probably. Its his option to do either. I was just offering an idea based on whats available today. He can take it or leave it as he chooses.
That system stays within his stated budget and will build him a very nice capable budget system. I would personally wait until Kaveri is out and just see. But once again its his choice and I offered an option.

That strikes me as a bad idea, as you're pushing too close to the limits of what the power supply can handle.
Also, if you're not using Canadian sites, it isn't much help to the original poster.
