The Guild Wars 2 blog has been updated with a new post that both looks back on 2013 and gives players a hint about a "big finale" that is likely to happen later in 2014. To keep players up to date on what has happened to date, ArenaNet has released a video called "Guild Wars 2: Our Story So Far". Check it out and let us know what you think in the comments.
“As we announced back in December, we’re down to just four releases to go in the current storyline of living world,” writes Johanson. “The first of those four releases is nearly upon us, and we wanted to help take a moment and look back at the key moments that have brought us up to this point as a refresher before we dive-head first into countdown to the big finale.”

The horrid living story and the fact that there is nothing to do but hunt for fashion or do annoyingly stupid fractals or the all mighty and pointless zerg fest known as WvsW is the reason I quit GW2. Such a shame as it had so much potential but just ended up being a money grab with all the lock boxes.
How ArenaNet changed from doing a good B2P model in GW that gave good content to the absolutely crappy B2P model in GW2 with a cash shop that revolves around events in-game and awful content is a mystery to me.

They're a business in it to make money. Your enjoyment of the game is irrelevant, all they care about is cashing paychecks.
The team that built this great game and its predecessor cashed out about 3 months into launch.
This game will never improve.
Did they forget about adding guildhalls and player housing? What about your personal area in your hometown? It was supposed to be all about displaying your personal achievements and the choices you made in your personal story would be reflected in that area.
While I think that the world looks and sounds amazing, I also think it doesn't feel like a virtual world. GW2 still lacks a variety of features for a MMO. They kept messing around for too long with those temporary living story bits. Also, everything seem to be centered around a long list of achievement progress bars. I think GW2 feels very gimmicky because of this checklist of achievements.
I hope to see some new features this year and not just more of the weak story stuff.
Guild Wars 2 is in need of fresh content that doesn't go away if you happen to not play a particular living story. They need an expansion for the game that opens up more of the map, large portions of the map are there but can't access it.
The lore is cool but there need to be more then 5 races, a couple more wouldn't hurt the lore at all and help revive the game a bit IMO. I used to love GW2 but got bored when they keep sticking with these some good some lame living stories that disappear over time. It is a free to play MMO after all and I shouldn't have to play at certain times to reap the benefits from any living story.
WoW shouldn't be brought into this conversation either, it is another MMO unrelated, it annoys the hell out of me that all gamers compare all MMO's to WoW. I used to love WoW and may play it again once they update the entire game graphics, but give me a break, WoW is well WoW and has zero to do with these new MMO's coming out. lol

agree with the new content.
they focusing too much on living story (which i dont find much amusing) and they neglected other event.
after 1 year but halloween and winters event is just copy and paste of last year.
if we go for expansion like GW1 . after 1 year GW1 has Faction with 2 new class, a new continent and whole new story/update.
Less Living Story, more permanent content and class balance. Agreed.
