Man... The first MMORPG I picked up.. EverQuest.. Back in early 2000 I started playing. I played it for years. I put over 150 days. Around 3500 hours on that game. I was so addicted. I couldn't do anything else but play that game. I loved every bit of it too... but now, now things are different. I've went through so many MMO's trying to find that awesome happiness again and it fails. I went to Anarchy Online for a few months.
I went to Dark Age of Camelot for a few months, And flopped between City of Heroes, Final Fantasy XI, Attempting EQ, Trying EQ2, Among other MMO's like Earth & Beyond. Nothing could replace it.. The closest I came was to playing World of Warcraft. A great game. I put about 30 days total of gameplay in that title. It was a great game, it did so well. But even now that game bores me.
I must find a replacement for my home.. I need something else to play! No. Screw console games. I love them too but I need ONLINE play. I need ONLINE community that doesn't require too much focus like Halo. I prefer RPG! Screw Diablo2. That game doesn't count as an MMO and it's just different.. Sure It was cocaine for a few months but after that, it's just not worth touching anymore.
Why did they have to mess up on EQ2 so much.. That was my next home I would move to.
I think I seriously need help @_@. (In all honesty I carry a good relationship with my wife and I work full time.).
Current MMO: WoW/GW2

I know how you feel. But I played Ultima Online for 4 years and like 30,000 hours. I spent days, weeks, months playing in a hardcore fashion. If i started playing, I had to play all day, like 12 hours, lol. It was in my opinion the greatest game ever made. It truely is another world, there's more gameplay and variety in it then any other game ever made, period. However; it's fallen into ruin. EA, being a greedy, lumbering corporation, closed down the OSI offices, and started milking the game for all it's worth, flooding the game with items that they sell to players for real life dollars. What could be worse? It's probably not even legal, seeing how players have no rights in UO, it'll just take a good lawsuit to topple EA's Cash for Items racket. Now, UO has less then 50,000 active players, I give it a couple years of life left at most, unless EA is just too stubborn to admit failure.
All good things come to an end. I'd just play WoW for awhile, I hear it's the best MMORPG out now. But I also have a good feeling about Dungeons and Dragons Online. I think it's going to be the second comming of UO, and be extreemly good.
THey havent messud up eq2(infact over the past few months its gotten way better, think they got new devs)...........and they dont want it to be Everquest clone, they said that from the begining.
If you really liked the hardcore grind of Everquest, try Vanguard, it seems to be like a reborn EQ.
But yes for a year EQ was great even though it was hard
The new EQ2, better than ever befor !
