Price for Sale of a SWTOR Character?

Elsewhere in the MMORPG Forum, there is a thread regarding  the suggested price for the theoretical sale of an established character in World of Warcraft.  In other words, if a World of Warcraft experienced gamer wanted to sell his character so that the buyer could play that game with all his experience and abilities, how much would this be worth?  Responses have varied, of course.  But if such a momentous buying opportunity became available in SWTOR, e.g. through level 50, I believe I'd be willing to pay at least $25 USD.  As a clueless newbie in this game, I would expect certain specific features to be included, such as exclusive rights to the character name and all that comes with it, including substantial combat skills and the ability to travel to and freely roam about any of the numerous feature-rich planets.

Needless to say, there are those who question the ethics or wisdom involved in such a transaction, but if you have a willing seller and a willing buyer, I believe it could justifiably be considered as a legal and ethical commodity.  However, I fail to see how such a transaction could even be accomplished in reality from both a technical and practical standpoint.  Still, if I could jump in one stroke from being a hapless Jedi Knight Padawan on Tython (who can't consistently defeat the even more hapless "Flesh Raiders") to a seasoned and artifact-laden RP warrior, I think I would gladly yield to the temptation.

Note:  This is not a solicitation for such a character, but just curious as to what the theoretical price might be here in the SWTOR Forum for such a character.

I think that more than any other mmo out there....if you wanted to bypass the story and just get to end game in swtor, you should play something else.

I would not pay more then 25 bucks myself but I would expect to have the char geared to be able to start the lowest end raiding and all way points clicked so I could travel where ever I was needed too play with my guild.

Granted, the story is appealing, interesting, and complex, but obviously a potential buyer's preferences would be to sacrifice that aspect in favor of the perceived opportunities accompanying the end of game pleasures.  In other words, this is a "different strokes" type of situation.  Gamers' tastes in enjoyment of the game do vary.

For one thing I don't think you could even do it, they have specific protocols for account security and even if the buyer did give you all their log on details and the answer to their secret question, the game itself won't let you log into the game from a different computer without photo id in some cases.

The second thing against this is that someone in the transaction has to trust a stranger with their money, either the buyer has to pay the seller and then just trust that he will mail you the account details, or the seller has to trust the buyer that he will get payment after handing over the account details, you can't sell them on auction sites any more, they are banned.

Thirdly and most importantly, why would you want to. If you are having trouble killing trash on starter planets then how do you expect to just jump in at endgame and be able to kill raid bosses. Other players will be able to see from your lack of playing experience that you probably bought your account and they will report you and you will be banned. More top lvl abilities don't make the game easier, they make it harder. Progression through the levels is there to teach you slowly new abilities as you get them through the levels. If you are having trouble then ask in chat and people can be very helpful, but at endgame people expect that you already know how to play and are not so helpful. If you don't pull your weight in endgame raids you open up yourself to been rediculed and been kicked off the team. Take your time and learn slowly how to play, ask in chat if you need advice and above all enjoy the story. SWTOR level progression is all about the story and it would be a shame to miss out on it.

Its worth nothing to me.  The only reason I'd play this game is to play through the story.

I'd pay you $25 for a max lvl character. Easily.

Oh man, wish there is a feature like rohan online, where you can "seal" your max level character and sell it in the auction house.

I'll gladly part with some of my characters in exchange for real money. of course the developers get a cut.
