I want to find a MMO that gives me that first MMO feeling again and I have had no luck over the past year. Any suggestions? I want a MMO that isn't a solo experience something that keeps me playing until end game.
Think that's the problem there are too many out there hah. Id say find one and stick with it.
Probably go with one of the tried and true titles, a few that come to mind
World of Warcraft
Guild Wars 2
Final Fantasy 14
Eve
Rift
Planetside 2 if you're into shooters
Looks like you're having trouble finding a home if you've played that many. Maybe try one a friend is playing? Take a break and play a some Moba's?
Kinda know the feeling i'm trying to find that next game myself.
I tested Final Fantasy 14 I have played Wow and Rift. WoW was good back in the day and I just couldn't get into Rift. Its hard there are so many out there and I just want to find one that I can stick with.
The larger companies with the more fluid games seem to be doing the trick, over these small indie mmo's that have copious amounts of server side problems associated with them.
To be honest, you won't find that "high" if what you seek is that same "high" you found in the first MMO.
You'll have to make compromises and narrow down what you like, and play games that have what you like, instead.
When I got burned out of EQII (love the game, but going through another expansion after TSO I just can't go there), I found WoW had what I was looking for in a paladin, as a healer. Although my interest waxes and wanes in WoW for 5 years, I love my toon and settled on the transmorg and character development as what I do in the game (since I don't agree with their "comfort zone" and FoTM design philosophy, as it turns the game into but a shooter not a MMORPG). It's a compromise, not the best, but keeps me from abandoning the game all together.
So find in that heap of 50+ what you like and don't like, then widdle the liked/disliked games to what interests you. From there you can pick from the "Game List" on the tabs above whats best, and find your niche.
Everyone will have different reasons to like a game themselves, only you know what you really enjoy to play.
I'd suggest talking to friends that you'd like to play with, and see what they're playing. If that's not an option, shop for an active mega-guild and go where they're playing.
From person experience, it's much easier to walk away from a game when there are no personal connections inside. It's not the game that makes the game great; it's the people.
If finding people to play with doesn't work, set the genre down for a while and dig out your copy of Skyrim.
Ken Fisher - Semi retired old fart Network Administrator, now working in Network Security. I don't Forum PVP. If you feel I've attacked you, it was probably by accident. When I don't understand, I ask. Such is not intended as criticism.
If you are looking for something completely different try Vindictus. It has action based combat but also has environmental physicals that no other MMO has.

Well, only the first MMO will give you the "first MMO feeling" by definition. Unless you can invent a time machine, you are better off just find a good fun game to play, instead of trying to get the "first MMO feeling" again.

I just want a game that lets me design the character I want (skill or multiclass), has flight, has customized housing (brick and board style) and looks good. Then, of course, implements them well.
Some come close but just can't seem to do them all.
ESO with their multiclassing skill thingy (not sure what it is yet just know that it is something like that) seems interesting. Will have to see what that's like.
Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it is bad.

What did you not like in FFIV? I bought it but had did not play it much, it actually ran very slow on my laptop, the only game that runs slow somehow.
