Star Wars: The Old Republic: Alderaan Focus of New Animal Attacks...a Hint?

SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

The Star Wars: The Old Republic forum has been updated with a single line cryptically indicating that there have been a series of animal attacks on Alderaan, a sure indication that the rhakghouls are on the move again.

Strange animal attacks have been reported by soldiers serving on Alderaan. An investigation is currently underway.

Animal attacks?!? They need to first find a way to defend against the TROLL attacks that happen daily!

There aren't enough Rhakghouls in SWTOR.

    Insert:

    A phantom Rhakghoul.

    The Rhakghoul wars.

    Revenge of the Rhakghouls.

    A new Rhakghoul.

    The Rhakghouls strike back.

    Return of the Rhakghouls.

Why would they post it on the forum instead of spreading the word in game?

I hate Rakghouls. There are enough zombies in pop-culture and i don't need them in my Star Wars. They can't ever be near as interesting as other stories that can be told in SW universe.

I am not a fan of Rakghouls myself. Oh well, I will continue playing GSF. I do want to try out a bomber.

They are overused in the Old Republic Era.

Not in SWTOR though , it has been over a year and a half since the first rakghoul plague so I will welcome the chance to slaughter them again soon. Plus they aren't zombies.

    It's a little something extra. Some foreshadowing/build-up.

There will probably be something in game to notify you when it's live too; like with the bounty event - where there are suddenly new NPCs with a quest standing in a high traffic area.

Looking forward to it, I enjoyed the first Rakghouls event very much. image

My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

Yeah, I don't think a year and a half between events is overkill. hehe. I just started playing again and I think that last time I played seriously was after the last outbreak. And it was such a cool event with the news stories and what not.

I think it would be more entertaining if they did it in game first, and then let it spread in the real world. It makes the game more immersive. Put a patch in where the NPCs or your companions start talking about (without telling anyone).
