Definately the sword and all its variations (katana, wakazashi, broadsword, claymore, etc.)
Am I ever wrong??
I might surprise a few peoples but My favorite weapon would be the Halberb

I just love handling a rather long wooden or bamboo stick and use or practice some offences or defences moves. The fact it has a heavy head that can do piercing and slashing damage is just so convenient.
It's just about handling it (I did) and it just fit my skills and liking.
It would just fit my skills (real ones) in melee combat. I just enjoy too much handling a wooden stick and the fact a piercing and slashing metal end is fixed and put a weight balance to the weapon make the handling much more convenient and add more attacks or counter-attacks strategies.
I supose many will/would asnwer Katanas or nodachi ;D Might sound odd for some but me, it definetly the Halberd.
P.S. I was actually wondering why I suddenly became an advanced member ?
The death star laser.
wow how are you an advanced membe with only 4 posts? You must have posted some very long and insightful posts... Nice Job
EDIT: This post is aimed at Yngilo

*edit* had some issues with my posting, sorry...
The halberd is also a nice weapon, it has so many uses. It's like the Swiss army knife of polearms (maybe that's where the Swiss got the idea from, they used enough of them).
any kind of pistol, like a baretta. I like compact things that you can whip out, like in resident evil!
22 caliber colt semi auto, only gun in history that changed the threads that are balistic signatures with relative ease due to a removable barrel.
all you had to do was buy a new barrel and the gun had a new signature. but it was only made for 2 or 3 years.
but other then that the smith and wesson 38 specials, the accuracy on those per inch of barrel is better then 95% of semi autos with the possible exception of the barreta 92, or certain 45 specials.
but my favorite melee weapon is anything with a leaf spring mechanism which is a legal mechanism that is faster then the switchblade(i have 7 of these)
and the flemish peasant weapon that is not so well historically documented called the gutentag made entirely of wood basically and it is one of the most effective weapons ever devised against platemail.

MacGuyver Magic.
If I was proficient; maybe a kusari-gama(kama).
I'm not sure why I would have a reason to use it, but the umbrella that shot out the tiny ball with poison in it that um, that guy assassinated, um that important dude with is pretty cool.
The Gunblade.

wow that is a terrible terrible gun you know that by the time you shrink the gun to that small the recoil gets stupid not to mention a 38 special has so much less recoil, more punch, and twice the distance.
i have shot a couple of those and ive shot the baby dessert eagle and i will tell you they are terrible.
especially when you consider that the concealability of that gun when say matched with the 7mil walter ppk(the 9mil one isn't as good), or even a smith and wesson bodygaurd(38cal hammerly snub revolver) is terrible.
the mechanisms on those is faulty when compared to the larger and some of the smaller semi autos. and not near as reliable as a revolver.
those are terrible....
terribble guns.
the range on those is not good, especially when you fire in rapid succession your shots will be all over the place.
and yes i can shoot damn well. just those semi autos of that size and stupidly large caliber for their size have always been terrible. they are just toys for those who want a large caliber gun to conceal.

verg dont forget accuracy. if your accurate 1 shot from a 45cal will put a person down as opposed to a 9mm wepon. less ammo wasted. thats why i like 45's over 9's and 22's.
yes but when the 40 cal is the size of the 9mil the mechanism breaks more, they jam more often, hold less amo.
they just suck by comparison.
and worse shots may need bigger shells but i only need one 9 mil to put anyone down.
skill over power.

or if we are going with collectible colts. why not the colt ACP revolver. the only revolver to ever use the colt 45 round or at least the first.
ive seen one of those done in silver, and etched all along the outside of the barrel.
but with the collectible value its at least 4 grand. they are really rare.
or the 1836 colt naval the first repeating pistol of all time. i have shot one of those.
colts are good as long as they stick to their traditional fair, newer colt stuff isnt as good.

hmmm... thats a toughy.
Barrett M90
nothing says
"boom headshot"
like a snipers rifle.
after 6 or so years, I had to change it a little...
My favourite would have to be the Samurai weapon(Katana right?). Well, maybe I just like the eficience of the samurai handling it, its simply great to see fights where samurais appear
Other cool weapons would have to be the smal spiked mace... With the big one you would just kill your opponent, but with the small you could see him suffer while bleeding through all the holes
And theers allways the shuriken, which are plainly cool....
For "new" weapons I woud have to say these WW2 pistols. They were cool! A long and slim barrel(I don't if its called barrel, but whatever, the place from where the bullets come out), and maybe the Submachinegun from CS. Not efficient but looked nice

My fav. weapon has to be the Scythe
Scythe is actually a tool, not a weapon. But a nasty thing to use if welded as a weapon. Not to mention it looks badass and reminds everyone of the reaper.
My favorite weapon is the Crossbow. Takes skill to use, very deadly and silent.
Next to the Crossbow I like the Slingshot.
