I know what you're saying but I strongly believe in not letting companies "get away with it". Where does it end? If this is okay behaviour and apparently it is; what's stopping them from pushing the boundaries even more?
I think the following quote applies to how I feel on the matter.
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
I don't want my games' content to be locked behind multiple forms of paywalls.
I wouldn't exactly call a company selling optional mounts "the triumph of evil" rofl. You don't need them. I just bought a car. I paid for a whole car, but the company wanted to sell me extra stuff that was completely optional for my car... Those evil bastards......... Get it?

sold out? lmao thats silly, you might as well just say mommy said no...
I must come from a totally different MMO generation or something. I pity those who never got to experience a game where everything obtained is from an in-game experience.
I was itching to go back to WoW with the new expansion but it's best I vote with my wallet and not let them have a single red cent from me as I disagree with their double/triple dipping. It's greed, in its purest, undistilled form.
I get your point, but who are you to say it's greed?
My understanding of "greed" is to collect wealth in excess for no other purpose than to stockpile said wealth.
It's very possible that those extra funds generated by item shop sales are going to fund future expansions of WOW, or even is being allocated to fund their Titan project (which currently has NO revenue stream)
I am also of the opinion that bought items from item shops are cheap in value and not my cup of tea....but they are valuable for some people....and if someone feels that an ugly mount like that is worth $15 dollars / euros to them, who are you to say it's not?
If there wasn't a demand for the service, Blizzard wouldn't be providing it.
The king of P2P MMOs further devalues it's subscription. People can justify this to themselves however they see fit, but since I have a choice between a cash shop along with a forced subscription or just a cash shop, I know what I'll continue to choose.
I wonder how many people who just bought / will buy this mount (or think there's nothing wrong with Blizzard selling mounts / pets) will later on be complaining about cash shops in F2P games?
Devalues their subscription?
How much has the $15 Blizzard gets a month deprecated over 9+ years of inflation?
in 9 years the sub for WoW has risen exactly $0.00
How to pay for rising (due to inflation) costs?
2 ways.
have a mandatory raise in the subscription fee for EVERYONE. (which digs into peoples gaming budgets)
or create another source of revenue that is purely cosmetic fluff (as of the present) for people that find it worth their money.
I won't lie, the mount looks good. However knowing that is was purchased and not earned kills the entire purpose of obtaining these to begin with, at least imo.
I suppose as long as people keep buying they will keep selling.
Not sure why but alot of people really went nuts over mounts in WoW...Probably moreso than any other MMO I played.....If they made all mounts a cash shop item they'd make billions really.
Still having a tough time with graphics making it look like these dragons are half gimp in flight eh Blizz? You would think for the money they would have more fluidity.
Bought it from guild mate for 30k gold. No real money spending. I hope to see more cash shop mounts, I'm pretty sure I'll get them all by this way, like previous 6 mounts (bought only 1 with real money).

Blizz went with option 2.
Adjusting for inflation WoWs $14.99 subscription fee should be $18.49 today.
Everyone in WoW knows which mounts were purchased for real world $ and which were earned from hard content or skillful play or farmed out through dedication and some luck.
You people are all mostly clueless, not SB.

This is still not justifiable to me, if i pay a subscription to ANY game, everything in that game should be available to me IN THE GAME, preferably with some content behind it, not "Oh hey i found a batch of these awesome looking dragons and imma sell them to you. 50gold please" like a quest line or other such thing.
If you want to do cash shop, do cash shop f2p and im okay. if you want to do subscription, do subscription you-get-it-all style.
not subscription and cash shop. if it isnt a server change ticket or name change, im never going to touch those games.

I don't want to sound negative and all that, but really, who cares about mounts.
