You dont want to play this game, It's utter crap. Buggy as hell, laggy, server is down 90% of the week. You're wasting your time trying to get into this crap.
Try RFOnline.
While I will not be as harsh as the above poster, I do not feel there is any need for anyone to play this game in its current state. Wait till it launches... then give it several (and I do mean several) months to work out the bugs, etc.
I feel the need to say that SoG (the DnL Beta-like) is not what DnL was envisioned to be, it's probably a pretty good model of what it will look like at release (as far as the engine/graphics). I would suggest looking elsewhere for a good game right now.

I have to agree with the other posters, this game is just utter garbage at this point. I wouldn't be surprised to see them invite another 10k to become Settlers because of the lack of participation.
I have an account for Dark and Light. I signed up a long time ago and got accepted for open beta. However after checking the specs and stuff, I feel that my crappy Intel graphics card can't handle the game so I gave up on it. I'm not sure if my account works anymore, it doesn't let me post on the forums for some reason...
