XIV needs open world content (where are the big explorable caves and underground and castles etc.)

Bigger maps (world is so small, we can run the entire world in 15-20 mins. 2-3 min per map... yeah it's that small)

Tough challenge outside instances ("elite" type monsters and meaning full endgame content outside of instances)

Less instances (everything is instanced, cities are lobbies and duty finder your way to 50)

Less rehashed content (enough with the hard mode existing dugeons and EX primal fights, whats next... Super Extreme Power Mega Primals?)

2.2 better epic big because ESO is lurking around the same date"ish".  Let's face it it WILL pull a ton of ppl out of XIV.

Yeah ESO makes me worry about the population on the NA servers.

The patch thus far sounds very rinse repeat. New Primal fight which may have Hard/Extreme somewhere down the line if not right away.

    New Dungeon.

New quests for the inspector guy.

Nothing spectacular. The last one was huge with PVP/Housing/Reputattion

I wouldnt worry about ESO pulling From Final Fantasy both games are so diffrent in scope that those who like FF are not probally going to be all that inrtrested in ESO. To be honest with people who enjoy FF i think the only thing coming out this year that has a slight chance at pulling a hand full away is Warlords of Dreanor

Coil turns 6+ is a big deal you forgot to mention.  Leviathan is getting Hardmode and Extreme mode at the same time.

There is also a mystery primal being added that we don't know yet.  Next patch we're getting Shiva and Ramuh...

We're also getting vanity system that a lot of people are looking forward to, I know I am.  Lastly, YoshiP said the main story will progress and there will be 1.5x more content in terms of story than 2.1 did.

that's a lot of content for 3 months.... I don't see any other game offering that every three months.  GW2 content is small, I prefer bigger content patches with progression like this.

i agree with this statement. A lot of people in my guild (we are a very large guild) seem to enjoy FFXIV for its story and lore. Many have played other Final Fantasy installments on console, handhelds, etc. While I personally don't mind the lore I still feel more comfortable with standard Fantasy lore.
