Version 1.21.0 was released today and the X-mas supprise is...... thats right snipers.
While I think this is a novelity item, many people since the start of the game has asked for this infantry class.
What I think is really important is finally Brigades are physically located on the map. From what I have seen so far, this feature is really cool since it changes the whole way WWIIOL is played. Before WWIIOL was focused on capturing towns. Now the focus is engaging the enemy Brigades and crushing them, then grab land.
Anyway, her are a few shots on the new sniper class.

Yay, the game is now officially over.
My astrologer told me that when snipers get modelled, the game will dissapear 1 month later.
Well I don't know about snipers doing them in but the fact that you need to upgrade your system a regular basis probably will in the long run.
I played the game for two years on a 1.4 gig cpu, 1 Gig of memory, and Gf4 ti4800SE. Then I decided to upgrade, not because I had to, to play the game but because I wanted a newew computer and wanted to use the old one to create a Media Center/DVD player for my entertainment system. I haven't upgrade again since then and I'm running on 2.4 gig, 2 gig of RAM, and GF 6600 GT. I don't see the game requiring me to upgrade again anytime soon, in fact I'm hoping as they rewrite more of the game engine and make improvements to more of the systems involved the game will only run better on my existing one.
To each their own I guess, but I personally don't agree with your perspective. The game isn't dying out, and snipers nor the requirements to play this game are going to kill it. Even though every couple of months someone comes out claiming that this or that will be the end, at one time it was RDP, then it was Depots, then Attack Objectives, somewhere someone said Sappers would, and now its Brigades and TOE's, now we've also got Snipers bringing down the doom.... yet amazingly enough I played the other day and I didn't see it myself, I had fun and saw lots of action. Been seeing it that way for going on for many years now... guess I'm just blind to the obvious then.
As always are you wrong Nerf09. It seems like your hate toward CRS is blinding you.
After a week with Snipers ingame is the general perseption that it didn't do much difference to the gameplay as you thought.
Either are you a good sniper, with or without a scope
or are you a sniper-wannabe and it wont matter if you have a scope or not. You will still not hit much at distance.
Remember, WWII Online don't have laserguns as other games do. You need to really know how to use your weapon to make it a deadly one.
Btw Nerf09, the game is prospering more then ever. The overwhelming playerbase seems to love the last patch. That is at least what they say in the forums. These last days has it often been seen eight Attack Objectives at the same time on each side now. That is how many people that is logged on these last couple of days.
All the green tags I'm seeing seem to suggest that the boxes are starting to sell.
