So who will be getting Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13?

I have to admit I have been disappointed with the direct the FF franchise has taken. If you are a long time fan you may know what I am talking about. These "next gen" games feel almost like an action-RPG than a traditional one. However, with FF14 I see that they sort of went back to their roots a bit and that's probably why I am enjoying the game so much.

That being said, I've played/beat all FF games up until FF13. That game was so different I just couldn't bear to finish it. Didn't even get 13-2. However, after seeing LIghtning in the FF14 fate event, it got me pumped up, and I recently started playing again.

So my question is, who will be getting the new FF game and what are your expectations for the franchise moving forward?

Also, in case anyone who looking to pre-order the game still I found it here for $5 cheaper with free shipping and no tax:

Absolutely not couldn't stand the story in 13, 13-2 felt like a convoluted time jumping mess.

Maybe ... once it hits the cheap $10 bin, or other "bigger" discounts. If I do itll be out of curiousity. I beat 13 ... it was decent. Played about 20% on part 2 before I got sick of it. If I ever get around to finishing it maybe ill continue on with part 3 to see how this cluster*uck of a storyline finally ends.

Im not a fan of the whole 13-x series, but I'll end up buying it because I will be bored at one point... lol

I still thinking about getting it on release or not but I will definitely buy eventually, maybe when it's $15-20. I know the story through the whole 13 series is kind of a mess but I liked 13. I didn't like 13-2 as much. From the preview I thought LR would be a pretty good but this review gave me more insight.

I was hoping they would make the story make some sense (at least more sense) but I guess it didn't happen lol. I bought 13 and 13-2 for $15 so I might continue that tradition.

Pre-ordered and ready to go! Lol

Personally, I really liked FF13 (Didnt play 13-2) but I also liked X-2 and people hated that XD

    So yeah, ready and stoked.

MMOs should incorporate the gear coloring system Lightning has for her Schema into all games.

    Its THAT good.

Have the collector's edition pre-ordered and a copy pre-ordered from Amazon (gotta get that Yuna outift XD). Idk I wasn't very interested until after I beat 13-2 which got me hooked on wanting to see the story til the end and after playing the demo of Lightning Returns I'm pretty stoked about it now.

Why not check out the demo to see if you like the game or not?  The demo is available on the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Played the demo yesterday and im sold on it.  The battle system is really fun being able to change Jobs on the fly and use them strategically in a fight.  Plus its got an open world and I like the whole dark souls type online features where you can interact with other players using messages.
