Cant create an account for trial

in Everquest II

I really want to try out EQ2 so I figured Id download the trial. Now, trying to create an account I get to the point where you have to chose a name for the EQ2 forums. No matter what I type, it says that the name is already taken. Ive even tried gibberish like "lkjhgfdafsg". No use, it claims the name is already taken.

This is getting really frustrated...I dont even wanna use the damn forum!

edit: found some info in their forum...seems like there is a problem with the name registration and they arent sure when it will be fixed image

    ya there fixing right now but u can sign up a fourm name just dont let u log on to it and u still get a system failure when i try to activate it through the client but should be all fixed soon

    I wish, still the same problem. Lol, guess they dont want any more subscribers to EQ2 image

    Ok, Ive found a solution for this. This is all in the EQ2 forum thread: http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=tech_support&message.id=128229

    Im not trying to get any credit for this, just spreading the word image

    To be able to access the forum you need to create a forum handle, this is easily done. Just go to www.everquest2.com and click forum in the upper meny. Then you'll be able to register a handle for your account.

    After that problem is solved you face the next one: you cant activate the trial through the launchpad thingie. This is all in thread mentioned above but I'll post it here as well for you lazy bums image. All you need is to have an account at fileplanet (gamepsy might work as well). go to http://www.fileplanet.com/150028/150000/fileinfo/EverQuest-II---Trial-of-the-Isle and register, you'll get a trial serial key. Now, go to the EQ2 site and login and click "my account". Then chose "Add Everquest2" and just enter the key (after some parental related questions). You wont have to enter your Credit card number or anything.
