Somebody, somewhere has better skills as you have, more experience as you have, is smarter than you, has more friends as you do and can stay online longer. Just pray he's not out to get you.

If you are so jaded - at least point it at the right source.

Trion cannot do diddly squat without XL's approval - they are NOT the ones holding up NA/EU release.

Hey! We don't take kindly to logic and facts round these parts...

"For the Angel of Death spread his wings on the blast,
And breathed in the face of the foe as he passed:
And the eyes of the sleepers waxed deadly and chill,
And their hearts but once heaved, and for ever grew still!"

While Elrar was their CM we were getting updates regularly, not much but something time to time (he was coming to fansites to post, he was answering the mails, he was joining the livestreams on Twitch and answering the viewers questions)... but since the change we didn't get anything just the "empty talk".

Their hands are not tied as you think, they just for some reason don't care, maybe they know how the fans would react if they would start with the 1.0 themeparked version, and want to keep that a secret as long as possible.

    That would be better?

that would be just more "empty talk" - again Elrar couldn't change the fact that XL delayed the release, he wouldn't be able to give you any more information than Trion is doing now.

When you delay a launch there is NOTHING to talk about, other than "umm yeah  - we're working on it, no details"

    What else can they say?

Also 1.0 themparked version is so overblown and overhyped on AAsource it's pretty funny to read that thread. Even with all those changes the game is nowhere near *themepark* .

And we have NO clue what version we'll be getting, we have no idea if any of those 1.0 changes will stay even in Korea, let alone come to NA/EU yet.

Once ArcheAge launches in NA/EU - 99% of players will have no prior gameplay experience, so whatever version they get will be "ArcheAge" to them, so this whole idea of "keeping secrets" is just pure conjecture, as they haven't played any previous version to compare it to.

If most future NA/EU players played AA already, I could see your point, but the fact that majority of players have NO BASELINE to compare the current version of Korean AA to any previous version - makes it a pretty silly conspiracy theory.

Im not talking about a release date here, talking about minimum communication from them, something what other publishers in other regions were providing. Just an example, Mail.ru was making tons of events during their localization, one of them was the "name this monster", where they included the community.

AAsource and the other fansites are not overhyping the 1.0 patch, you should know that most of the members at AAS started following the game because they wanted something difference from the typical themeparks, they were hyped about the sandbox part of the game, and with this new 1.0 update the "sand" got blown away, and now the game just became another themepark (Korean version), there is no exploration, no openworld PvP (minimal) in the game anymore.

This 1.0 is the reason why the long term AA followers/fans are raging everywhere, and demanding an answer from Trion, and a promise that they won't go with it.

What good would  that do them? none.

Or do you think it's more likely that it's not decided yet - and they don't know?

Honestly, most of us think that they haven't even heard about 1.0, it's XLGames who is running the show, we just want them to be prepared when they sit at a table with XLGames to discuss the plans for the western version, and we want them to understand how bad is the 1.0 for the sandbox part of AA.

    Fair enough.

I think if AA was going to launch in 2013 Trion would have been more involved in community sites - but it didn't happen, hence the lack of communication.

I think that mail.ru community involvement was due to it being released there first before NA/EU, my theory is that if mail.ru was in Trion's shoes (aka waiting for XL) - they wouldn't have as much community involvement because of release being so far away.

Demanding an answer from Trion on 1.0 - sure you can do that, but I bet you Trion doesn't know at this point either.

Trion's been pretty transparent with information that they have and know 100% will cary over to western version - I think they are not saying anything because they don't know, and releasing false information or making promises that they can't deliver on would be way worse than not saying anything.

Do you honestly think that Trion has a 100% answer on 1.0 and they are just *choosing* to not say anything, or ignoring AASource and other fansites on purpose?

Yeah I agree, I think Mail.ru was more involved with the community/giving out information due to ArcheAge being released over there earlier. I think one of the reasons we are going last is due to having the game localized to three languages instead of one. What are the reason(s) that make the new patch so bad? I think the big factor is that they made the game more themepark than sandpark, are there any specifics? If this is the case, are there any major features left that can be considered sandpark in ArcheAge?
