Interesting open world pvp/pve battle

Just wanted to share as I was pretty impressed after watching this video. Correct me if I am wrong, but are they fighting over a contested area and is that a world boss in the middle of the battle @15:35? Also the machine thing everyone keeps attacking, does that regulate control of an area or something?

I only know so much about ArcheAge in general so forgive my lack of knowledge, but this looks really fun.

    Thanks for sharing the video. I'm not an expert; but i've seen several livestreams.

    The "boss" is definitely connected to large scale PvP. I've seen several of them appearing after a large scale battle starts in one of the zones of the continent. I've seen them spawining usually below the big red portal in sky (i suppose enemies comes out of it?). I don't think it does anything more then protecting that strange pod (which i suppose is a control point).

    It's a war between 2 factions that happens every 4 hours war lasts for 1h15mins after the war map goes back to safe zone. You get material to craft an necklace out of it, more if you win.

    That's not a world boss. It's a guardian both bases have one. You kill or just let it be. Winner is the side who destroy the machine.

    Some monsters use the same model like the raid bosses so it's easy to mix them up. They are not related to the guardian or what ever you want to call it.

    And what is the point of your post?

    Sometimes I wonder if these fora hurt some games more than the games themselves (not ArcheAge since it's not released in EU/NA-SA)

    That is not true. Cars or costumes aren't limited to any certain continent.

    Playing West  15+ location, there are mobs thats look like coffee graters and toasters with wings....

     

    C nothing wrong in cars. Gives PvE peeps something to do.
