It’s been a while since I’ve seen an AAA MMO put as much emphasis on player customization as Carbine Studios is with WildStar. Released just this morning, the latest DevSpeak video focuses squarely on the myriad ways Carbine will emphasize customization in their game. As a “fussypants” myself, I have to say I was genuinely excited by what I saw. We recently had an opportunity to discuss most of what was shown in the video in greater detail, so let’s get right to it.

Looks great, but Wildstar seems to have a lot of action buttons and combat customizations that would give the average American (non-Eve playing) consumer decision paralysis.
I look forward to playing it.

There is a lot to like in Wildstar! Mount customization sounds so cool. Mounts are a big deal to me, its one of the horizontal progression types that really appeals! Personally I think instant travel does make the world seem small!
Unless you´ve got power!
Ramen bowl. now I'm hungry...
Also: I just watched the new ESO trailer, and I have to say... ESO looks like a movie I'd like to watch, and W* looks like a game I'd like to play.
Nice, nice, nice, keep the fun stuff coming!
Love the fact that you can customize armor in-depth, and the skill/amp systems look interesting. Seems to be going in the right direct, I'm almost sold. A bit more info on end-game PvE and I'll be throwing my money at them for sure.
Ramen Bowl on my Chua Ball...
They say all that but chip out on small things like letting you have a house per character?

I thought it was one housing plot per account also. Yet in this article, Mr. Bittton states that you could string together plots for multiple toons to overcome the plug restrictions on plots. So which is it? I am now officially confused.
I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals.

In Wildstar, hoverboards DO in fact work on water. With or without power

Its 1 house per character. Carbine have confirmed this a number of times, and I have been watching a lot of wildstar twitch stream recently and have seen it in action..... its definitely 1 housing plot per character.

Yes, take their money and also give me a game too. (But with their money)
One of the screens had a shot of the costume UI and the weapon slot wasn't showing. That doesn't mean it won't be in the game, but it doesn't appear to be in now. I'd be surprised if there was no way to customize weapons when the game ships, even if it is separate from the costume UI.
Anyway, this looks freaking awesome. Whenever I see one of their videos it makes me excited, not just because of the features, but because it gives me insight in to what is important to the developers. They always impress. Can't wait to get into beta.
nice... wow-level of customization. What to expect next from ex-wow vanilla devs I wonder... oh yes they're giving players housing without having to actually work for it or earn it. Great. Do they pay rent? (and some ppl know this is not sarcasm... some ppl actually know what i'm talking about).
But yea... I get what it takes to get to the level of "awesome" of "wow players" lol... welcome to wow 2.0.
I love how people want to compare the entire game to WoW just because it has a similar visual style. I can't think of a single AAA MMORPG that has better customization than this game, or even close really. So that might be where the "awesome" is coming from.
