Alright, in the last couple of weeks i've seen 15+ "I'm just getting into the genre, what should I play?" or "I need a new game!", etc... But there is something important you guys need to know about these games...

Every game on our games list has players who play it. Every game has people who play the game 10+ hours a day and are flat out addicteted to it. Every MMORPG has potential to get you into it... But YOU have to find out which one it is!

Everyone likes different things, having other people tell you what THEY like is not going to get YOU a game suited for YOUR tastes... Following me here? I loved Everquest and Shadowbane, dabbled in DAOC, Hate SWG, etc... whereas I know friends who would tell me SWG is the Sh!t, that I need to play it, etc. People can tell you what they like, but they can't tell you what you like

All i'm really trying to say here, is that an MMORPG.com staff member, I can tell you we didn't put together our extensive game list (possibly one of the most robust MMORPG game lists avaliable, anywhere) for you to look and gawk at. We made it so you could have access to all the games out there so that YOU can decide what game you want to play. Don't listen to other people on this, Go out there, get in the trenches, and FIND YOURSELF A GAME!

Well said cohh, BTW i got star wars galaxies and i went ape when i found how many people on the game actually enjoyed it. The only thing is, we can't just buy every game, try it out and see if we like it or not. I know some are free trial, but stuff like star wars galaxies i paid 60 bucks for the cd and found out i didn't like it. So i just go by what people say is good.

Yeah, but someone thinks everygame is good

. Also in todays world if its not offering a free trial, its probably free as it is. I give it 2 months before SWG becomes downloadable anyway.

ha ha, i still wont even get star wars if its downloadable. I just downloaded AO - Shadowlands beta and just finishing getting the patches then i can try it out yipee.

AO was definently a fun play for me personally, however after a while it got very frustrating to play. I might try the shadowlands thing sometime before it comes out to see how the new classes are

honestly I wasn't too interested in Shadowlands when I first heard about it...then I saw the video trailer and my jaw dropped!! It looks GREAT!! I'm really considering giving it a go.

Just joined tonight,and I would like to chime in on SWG... I did the beta, and thought they should wait another year to lauch. It felt really incomplete.

I'm actually playing shadowlands now, its a very fun game. The Beta gives you the ability to make 150 Chars (thats public knowledge btw, not giving out beta snacks) so if you guys want to check out the AO world, nows the time to do it.

eh, I dont think I could ever get into SWG... seems too repetitive and the whole skill system in it is kinda... odd, when it comes to baking and dancing and such. Just a strange, buggy game

Nope,Rathma,shadowlands includes the original AO,and the Notum Wars booster,so its a complete version.

Don't trust the reviews of AnarchyOnline...

Yes the graphics are good for shadowlands. but it's campfest! The Head Dev said that AnarchyOnline will bee different. Meaning no camping! And what does he do? Shadowlands is CAMPING FEST!! ALL you do is camp for items to get to the next zone. Save your money and go buy SWG!

Of course different games are suited to different styles of play. But 2003 has now seen two games, SWG and FFXI, that have "new players" as their target audience. FFXI I haven't tested yet, just came out, but SWG is really easy. You slay mobs that con red to you, and if you die you lose nothing. Obviously that gets boring in the long term, and SWG is not a good game for powergamers. But if there are newbies asking how to get into the genre, I'd rather suggest an easy game.

Well I mentioned in a post a while ago that I have no intention of sitting waiting months or years for a game and then play it 2 weeks and dump it and then moan for more months on forum.

Like you said every game has its own taste for different people.

I am currently play SWG and yes many hate it many like it.I played better but not since the days of DAoC or EQ.But thats my view.

Pick something up and have fun guys this is not waiting for the rapture here .Honestly speaking if many people would actually try and have fun and not try and find everything wrong with a game they might actually be playing then moaning.
