Landmark Alpha officially launched late Friday night and we had over 50 unique accounts from our Guild log in. So far it has been an amazing experience and we encourage everyone to try us out. You will not be disappointed.
We've got an average of 20-25 people in mumble throughout the day, hanging out and telling jokes. Stop by our forums if you're looking for an active & friendly community.
I've been playing online games since 1997, back in the days of XvT (for the space combat people :P).
Over the years I've never been able to find a guild that plays MMOs that I ended up liking and staying with them for a long period of time, until I joined Acolytes in GW2. That's where I find the Acolytes to be different, we are more than just a guild in a game, we are a gaming community which supports several games and above all likes to have fun (so, when you end up switching games, its likely some of us will be there too). Its not just about the games, its about the friendly people. We meet up on Mumble and have fun stuff all night.
I'm European, while something like 70% of the community is American but I always have people to play with, with people from most regions of the globe. And having 51 people in alpha is awesome.
Friday, September 5, we will be doing a PvP event/drinking game to celebrate the updates to Landmark.
At SOE live, we found out some of the story behind Landmark. The worlds of Landmark are a "slight dimensional sidestep" from the other existing dimensions. Our characters are "travelers" that can jump between worlds thanks to the magic of uhhh.. magic and technology.
Going off of that, we are having the event where our group of travelers see that there are hostile creatures in the world (monsters will be added 8/27 - they won't be hostile upon release). To prepare for the dangers of this new world, they decide that they need combat training in order to defend themselves. And thus, a RP PvP DBH (phew) is born.
Been with these guys for about three days now and I'm having so much fun! They are a great group of people and I'm excited to join them Join Acolytes today!
