play on pc and there is no way I am not playing this although I am not happy with the 3% xp bonus the imperials are getting but ill just play that mush harder to kick their asses.
As long as you cant be logged in from both at same time, it should be allowed. YOUR account, you would have been paying a damn premium for it, your choice when and what machine you will be logging in from.
Shocked at the fanboys response. We understand you want to be defend your game but you are making the community look too toxic to ever bother with.
you have no idea what you are talking about. Those are two separate versions of the game. They are not connected and do not exist on the same servers. He would effectively have two accounts. Of course you have to pay two subs for 2 accounts.. Common sense... haters with their illogical responses.
No, your fanboism has deluded your mind.
It's reasonable to question why you would need two subscriptions to pay for the same game. While they are separated by gaming machine, they are still the exact same game. As stated previously, buying two box copies isn't the issue. It's paying two subscriptions on top of it. Also as previously mentioned, there are other games that cross-platform your subscription. So it's not like this sort of thing doesn't exist.
You can agree or disagree. However, the fact remains that it is a reasonable and valid complaint. I see no reason why paying for one subscription is unreasonable, as long as you aren't logged into both games at the same time. Fanboi's with their 'illogical' responses.
This touches on the biggest potential problem I have for TESO; bad console port. I get that the PC version is coming out first, but it is a console game first and foremost. Some of biggest regret purchases I have are Fallout New Vegas and Skyrim because I could not get past the horrible console and menu driven UI.
Once open beta starts, I hope get a better feel for the control scheme, but any game that is better played with a console controller is a no go for me.

Haha.. i've never played an Elder scrolls title..
so your argument is completely invalid. And its not the same game regardless of what you think.. because unless everyone who buys the game buys both pc and console copies the players will be seperated. Thats just like playing a european version of a game and asian.. then asking to pay one sub.... as i said.. its ignorant.

Those two games were made specifically for consoles though, they were ported to the PC. ESO is a PC game first that will ported to console. Unless this is what you were saying and I misunderstood
The OP's concern is neither ignorant nor reasonable--it's just new.
MMOs are coming to consoles in droves now that both major consoles are PCs in disguise. At the moment separation of servers, same server, digital rights, PS+ or XBOX Gold memberships + subs, etc. are all over the place game by game.
I think what the OP wants will be the norm....eventually. It only seems weird right now cause the console MMO avalanche is just starting.

If you were referring to my post.. I wasn't talking about the OP.. but the guy who responded to me. If the game was to be played on shared servers it would make a lot of sense... but according to the way ZEN has implemented the servers... it shouldn't be a surprise that you would have to pay for two...
I agree that the servers should be shared.. because I also considered playing on both to decide which I preferred.

You had the right of it. I assume it is a console game ported to the PC, but I would like to be wrong. At best, I would think it is a hybrid design that has a few of the console port drawbacks. It they optimize it correctly for both, (unlikely, but it could happen) I would think there is a distinct advantage for the PC crowd.
Until we can sit down and play the darn thing, all this is really speculation. The control schema is something I can't quite judge from the few videos they have pushed. If they can impress with the open beta, then they may have a purchase here, but it's too early to tell.

This is not all about Zenimax. Sony and Microsoft have a big say in this. I want cross platform servers to and one would think Zenimax would prefer that as it creates opportunities to sell multiple box copies for each console. I own multiple versions of past TES games for both PC and console and I know I'm not atypical there. It's a lot harder to justify the cost of multiple subs to play on different systems than it is multiple copies of the game and having your character transfer between them would make it so you don't have to start over again.
We just don't know where this fell apart. I know Microsoft hasn't wanted to support cross platform play on their system and Sony has been slowly coming around but they may have asked for something like patch control that Zenimax wasn't willing to give up.
PS4 already has a digital download model. The subscription should not be tied to the platform you are playing on, it should cover the cost of playing, period.
The analogy of a stand alone game on two platforms is inaccurate, you dont pay a subscription to play a game like Assassins Creed. I purchased both the PC and the PS4 version of that game for that reason.
To be honest we should all feel like Sheeple for paying BOTH a box fee AND a subscription.
This game will do great for six months, then it will go free to play, like all the rest. They are just paying for R&D from initial sales to Sheeple.
I am patient, and I have a ton of other games to finish. So yes, I will see you all around Christmas time in F2P.
BTW, PS4 is just a game rig with a proprietary OS. The specs are awesome, Battlefield 4 at 60 FPS for 400 bucks, heck yeah.
I currently play Final Fantasy Realm Reborn with my guild mates regardless of whether I am on my PS3 or my PC, PS4 is already stated as a free client download when it releases. The way next gen should be.
Wow.. (Reminisces the glory days of MMOs for 11 minutes and 47 seconds .. *shakes and clears head*) ... Just wow.
Having other people to play with in this gem is just a bonus on top (imo), and you're gonna pass because you have to pay to play on two completely different platforms.. All because that ... (be nice..) FF MMO doesn't?
Hey, it's your decision and your money. I don't personally understand why you don't just pick one and have fun, but I'm not you so you gotta do what you gotta do. I don't understand the allure of playing a MMO on a console myself, so maybe I'm missing something.

I don't really disagree with what you are saying.. but to me the highlighted part is inaccurate. comparing the two is actually accurate.. No matter the payment model.. you pay whatever the dev's ask. playing two separate games on two separate systems = two separate charges. I agree that the servers should be shared.. but as long as they are separate.. I don't see why anyone would expect one flat fee.

Yeah, that's what I thought about it, too.
Requiring two separate purchases, per platform, makes sense because the clients are different. It's like FFXIV or XI in that way. I had to purchase a separate copy of XIV for PS3, even though I already own the PC version, for the same reason.. two platforms, two different clients.
However, there's no reason they have to require a person to pay two subscriptions. Accounts do not have to be separated by platform. They can be linked together. SE does this with XIV; you can link your PS3 account to your PC account so they're both covered under a single account/subscription.
Frankly, I don't know what rationale Zeni has to do something like that, aside from "because they can". It's not very customer-friendly, to be sure.

ARR has console players and pc players on the same servers... ESO doesn't. It's an important distinction.

I consider it an important design flaw for an attempted "Next Gen" title. Maybe some of us have family/friends that cant afford a gaming rig, but can afford a console. I play ARR with my daughter, who is stationed in the Middle East. Military pay isnt going to make her rich, and she is much more comfortable on a console. ARR allows us to run together. Me on my Game rid and she on the PS3. There is a lot to be said for allowing customers freedom of choice when the line between console and rig has been so blurred.
Game rig FanBois are usually only in that camp because they do not understand the hardware within is essentially the same. Today the only distinction is whether you prefer a controller to a KB/mouse.

It is important when considering payment model and not personal feelings. As i said.. I would prefer shared servers.. but since they aren't.. the payment model is valid.
and considering your other statements.. since your daughter is getting all that extra pay for being deployed.. she should easily be able to pay for an extra copy of the game or a gaming rig... military members are by no means rich.. but they definitely earn enough to afford computers...
When did they confirm you need 2 separate subscriptions to play on different platforms? I fully expected 2 box prices (you cant play your pc version of bioshock on the ps3 etc) but I've been trying to find info on if I need 2 subscriptions for months now and as far as I can tell nothing has been even hinted at either way let alone a confirmation?

I'd say valid, should be able to transfer your account, but how would you get the PS4 disc? Or could it all be done as a download to your PS4?

I'm pretty sure that you can download just about everything for the PS4, I remember I was able too on the PS3 so the disk is not the problem.
