I agree. I don't know where people keep getting this from. It is about a 180 from GW2 imho. The UI, character progression, character movement, and the world itself is less cartoony (which isn't a bad thing).

If the PvE or the PvP is like GW2 i will be sad. Very sad.

Gw2 PvE = the same two or three spoiled OP classes in pure damage gear pull everything into a corner and face tank AoE kill it. No dedicated tank. No dedicated heals. Just a giant clusterfck of damage and it isnt even fun. Ever.

    Gw2 PvP = I havent seen class balance this fked up since..... since... I wouldn't even call it a turd. More akin to diarrhea. And if you watch the recent videos on the class balance changes coming? What are these developers smoking, seriously? They talk about this and that and then type up a preview of what will be released months and months later when players have been waiting a year and its akin to 3 or 4 notes of craptastic changes for example;

    Skill A changed by 3%.

    Skill B changed by 0.5%.

Skill C (that nobody ever uses) buffed by 1.2%.

The "amazing preview that everyone has been waiting for"thread goes to 23,000 views with every single player like wtf?..... Its so embarassing and awkward i feel bad for even making fun of them. Its even too boring for me to continue talking about. Just dreadful awful balance that has not a clue on what happens ingame. Zero.

Certain warrior builds can auto regen health in such a manner other builds can go all out and not move his HP. Other builds will whittle him down and turns around and goes from 60% hp to full, throws thousands and thousands of damage at you with a LONG BOW..................... and you use your main heal on a long cooldown for 220hp.................................. Its.... just embarassing.

I really enjoy when the truth starts coming out, "all of a sudden people that raved about GW2 will now start bashing it", though I believe you are placing far too much faith is ESO.

I do too and still do.  It'll be a great game to visit in a few months to a year when they start doing real content updates and add in certain missing features.

I firmly believe the base of GW2 is an amazing game with amazing potential but it'll need time to reach its potential.

Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!

Subscription Gaming, especially MMO gaming is a Cash grab bigger then the most P2W cash shop!

Bring Back Exploration and lengthy progression times. RPG's have always been about the Journey not the destination!!!

Expensive? To me any game like this is very cheap entertainment, especially compared to other platforms. There is so much more content and things to do in an mmorpg than a single player game. Also, compare gaming to any other form of entertainment and it is very inexpensive!

    XBox 360  $59.99

    PC $59.99

No this game is very expensive.. in the UK its £49 that is nearly £20 more expensive than your normal PC games and other MMORPGs. Some epxensive PC games direct from AAA publishers might push to £39 but you can get them a lot cheaper from other retail outlets..

This game is way over priced for what it is and because of that I will not even consider buying it even it it turns out to be super amazing.. its not because i cant afford it but its because thatis not the price for PC games and its as simple as that. Plus it has a sub on top of that...

Quick edit had a look around some of the other retail outlets and the cheapest i can find it is £36.99 and that is for a physical copy. Lets look at GW2 for instance I picked that up for £29 from the same site as a pre-order.

Oh no! £7.99 cheaper for a relatively unknown IP! £8.99 a month for potentially 100's of hours of entertainment! Such a rip off! I mean, I could watch ONE film for 2 hours a month at that price! Or have lunch in a decent bar ONCE a month....

    Woe is me!

still that £8 could be spent on a few pints down the pub thanks.. plus that is not the real point.. The game is too expensive and its as simple as that.. I would also not call GW an unknown IP.

I would not have much of an issue about the sub if they where asking a normal price for a game.. but nearly £20 mroe expensive than normal games is qutie a big difference no matter how much hours of entertainment they claim.

Anyway this is going way off topic now I am sure there are threads about this already here.

Also for that price would could sub to netflix or one of the others and watch hundreds of films and TV series..

Huh, it's the same price here in the US as any other new release. Besides, I really don't see how anything of this type is over priced compared to single player games or any other type in it's genre.

Also, GW2 didn't release at that price. edit: at least not here in the US. I paid $59.99 when it released.

Generally PC games here in the UK release between £29.99. £32.99, £34.99 and sometimes £39.99(usually big AAA titles like battlefield, call of duty type this) not £49.99

Im sick and tired of crappy mmo's. B2P, P2P, F2P, whatever.

I would pay double the box price and twice the monthy fee for a good mmo. I dont know if TESO is a good mmo, just saying!

GW was pretty unknown before GW2. And GW2 was £49.99 for standard edition, you just managed to get a deal... and they supplemented with a 'proper' cash shop.... rinsing the weak willed.

It's supposed to be a "stress test" weekend, so opening early would kind of defeat the purpose, not so ?

If they're REALLY intent on stress testing the login servers, they'll be opening an hour or two late, so that they can be sure there's tens of thousands of irate gamers spamming the "Play" button... image

    Sorry to hear that. :(

Maybe the OP is from the US and that is why he is excited. For a bit less money he gets hundreds of hours of game play while in the UK you guys get less for your money and the game won't be worth it.  /sarcasm

They did so last stress test, but took them offline a few times to probably test that.
