Hey, just waiting for the game to finish updating. Could anyone tell me why it takes so freaking long? also, is there anything I need to know before playing this game?

If you just bought COH only then yeah it's going to take awhile cause there have been several Issues released since the release of COH.
My only advice is READ the story lines or you are going to grow tired of the game and it's just another button masher.
And you might want to check out COH Planner sometime so you know what you want to train and to develop your character.

Promote what you love instead of bashing what you hate.
To update from a fresh start, you're downloading over a gigabyte of data, then the game has to apply it. So yeah, you'll be waiting a while.
As far as needing to know anything before you start, I can't say there is. The tutorial zones are very informative and complete. I'd just make sure your graphics and sound cards have up to date drivers.
